I decided to use my Audible credit this month on Storm WarningI, the Eight Doctor's first adventure. I was also attracted to the story being set on the R101 on the night of the disaster.

It was ok story. Didn't grip me as much as Spare Parts. The aliens (Triskelion) were interesting with their three different sections of society living and working in a sort of harmony until the central figure was killed. The reason for, and the happening of, the crash of the R101 seemed a bit rushed at the end.

One character I did have an issue with was Rathbone. His accent seemed to change a lot. At first I thought he was French and was surprised when he revealed he is from South Africa. At other times he sounded English. The rest of the cast was good.

    Excellent little tale. Surprisingly uplifting.

I just bought the The New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield 1 & 2 and was wondering wether I should listen to Many Happy Returns before I get to those two, since they also feature the Seventh Doctor and all that.

I managed to catch up with the monthly and subscriber Short Trips (I think I've got one or two new ones to get to), and boy, there's a lot of good stuff in those ranges. But I switched over for the last week or two to series 3 of the Fourth Doctor Adventures. I wouldn't say they're mindblowing, but they're generally fun, with one disappointment in the batch. That was The Abandoned, a story with an interesting concept marred by some horrendously OTT performances and some pseudo-surrealism that borrowed a bit too much from The Mind Robber.

Just finished Ravenous 3. The Ravenous do remind me a lot of the Magog from Andromeda, with a little Pennywise from It.
The companion story was good but it’s a bit of a spoiler if you haven’t caught up with the Fifth’s arc with Cassandra.

I'm just getting back into the audios and picking up items of interest. One I'm very interested in is The Four Doctors - I've tried Ebay without any luck.

Anyone have an idea where I could get a copy ? It doesn't appear to be available for download so a preowned CD looks like my best bet.

That’s a tricky one to get since it’s a bonus cd you get when you subscribe.
If you want a multi doctor story try Light at the End. That’s the better one IMO and it contains 5 doctors. 4-8.

Yes, when you sunrise to a line of the main range, you get to pick what your free gift is. If you chose the CD option, you get a free digital copy as well which you can download in mp3, or download directly to the app.

Just picked up the two Tenth Doctor Adventures collections while I could still get the special editions (though I did have to get the first one off Ebay).

Finished Minuet In Hell today. Bit of a Doctor-lite story as the Doctor is only himself 27 minutes from the end of a 2 hour 27 minute story. It was an interesting concept having an amnesiac Doctor and someone else thinking they are the Doctor. It was nice to hear the Brigadier in the story and meet the Eight Doctor.

Got one - £20 off Ebay ! Also picked up the (now three) Tenant sets, Zagreus, the Destiny of the Doctor box, Light at the End and Sixth Doctor The Last Adventure.

Having a birthday has helped ! That will probably have to do for now...

I downloaded the Destiny of the Doctor set recently - the semi-serialized narrated stories (rather than audio-plays) that were released for the 50th back in 2013. I'm half way through the Fourth Doctor story at the moment (taking them in order), and I'm quite enjoying them so far. I like how they are all very appropriate to their eras - they all feel like stories that would have been done in that era of televised Who, they haven't forced the Second Doctor into a Third Doctor story.

Frazer Hines' performance as the Second Doctor was amazing, I honestly could have believed it was Patrick Troughton most of the time. It was nice to see how Mike Yates joined the Unit team, and the Fourth Doctor story is a rather blunt satire on social media that obviously couldn't have been done in the 70s yet feels like it could have. Enjoying it so far.

Just finished The Chimes of MidnightI with the Eight Doctor and Charley. Good creepy story with effective use of a time-loop. It did also have one or two lines that made me laugh out loud.

Going through some old archives and found some of the Excelis stories. Am I the only one who this Irys sounds like Bill Oldie when in drag In The Goodies (not only that, she uses ecky thump at one point).

Just finished the 10th Doctor volume 3.

It was pretty decent. Great to hear Wilf again but I am not a fan of Donna's mother although Donna and the Doctor are continue to be great together.

I just finished the second volume of The Lives of Captain Jack. Fun stuff. He got to interact with the Sixth Doctor, and there was also a great one with him in WWI.

I am currently half way through the Time War volume 3.

I do like the new companion for this series Bliss, and the 12 from the previous box set was a big improvement on the 11 for me.
