Hell, he has a long way to go to break McGwire's old record.

Eh, nine dingers between now and the end of September isn't outside the realm of possibility for Alonso, especially given the juiced ball.

Theo Epstein now says that he doesn't expect Brandon Morrow to pitch this year.

I imagine that's probably it for his career.

I think he was only signed for 2 years, and he's played about a half a season.

Yeah, he probably should call it a career with his injury history. The one story stated he's had something like 13 procedures done on that arm in the last year.

Yeah, he was signed for 2 / 21 after absolutely clowning the shit out of the Cubs in 2017.

Add another arm to the "Theo Epstein sucks at evaluating relievers" pile.

Kyle Hendricks had just a slightly better game than Jeff Samardzija, plus one run of support.

    A hell of a pitcher's duel, I'm sorry I missed watching it.

Could these Players' Weekend uniforms possibly get any uglier? :wtf:

This Mets/Braves game looks like Ice Cream Salesmen vs. Undertakers. Uniforms haven't been this ugly since 'Turn Ahead the Clock'...

I wonder what is worse. The NFL in Winnipeg or the MLB player weekend uniforms? It’s 2019, can someone use their brain and realize a bad idea is a bad idea?

It's funny. The Cards wore red helmets, but the Cubs had white & the Nats had black to match the unis. The Cubs looked like Imperial Stormtroopers.

Thankfully, the Rays appear to have realized this, re: the harebrained scheme of playing half their games in Montréal and half in St. Pete.

I caught a quick glance of the Yankees vs Dodgers game and had no idea who was who.

Still an improvement over Addison Russell's baserunning

My dead grandmother could run the bases better than Russell. I still don't understand why the Cubs haven't outright released that wife-beating piece of shit (unless it's just pride on Epstein's part and he doesn't want to admit that he got fleeced by Billy Beane).
