I'd like to see Puig back in a Reds uniform... if the price is right. Definitely wouldn't break the bank for him.

We are most gracious. Two games to go too.

However, most of the time they could have Chapman back...

It was Cole Hamels turn to get his ass handed to him. Lester & Hendricks recently gave up shitloads of runs. Darvish & Quintana are our 2 best starters at this point....not good

...Then Darvish has maybe his best game as a Cub, and the bullpen blows chunks. 2-5 on the current road trip with 3 more in Pittsburgh :brickwall:.

In Darvish's last eight games, he has averaged just over 6 IP a start, with a 0.78 WHIP and a 2.77 ERA. 63 strikeouts to 2 walks.

The Cubs are 3-5 in those games.

Guess which 3 of those games were at home?

Also, the Cubs have gone 0-10-2 in their last dozen road series.

Edit: Put another way, the Cubs are on a 111 - 51 pace at home and a 62 - 100 pace on the road. The mind, it boggles.

They're only 5-7 at Wrigley North so far. I mean, most team do better at home than away, but this is ridiculous.

Even if we make the playoffs, we probably won't have home field advantage, so it's a guaranteed series loss.

Small consolation, Hoss became the fastest to 100 homers as a Cub. I still love this guy and I'm glad he's still here. Not everybody can be an A+ OF.

    No way!

    Shocked! I’m shocked I tell you !

Watching the A’s - ‘Stros game the other night, and guys were sorta just poking at the ball and it was hitting the stratosphere.

I guess it’s one way to guarantee no one juices...

    Aaron Boone is a baby.

Didn't see you crying about a mercy rule when you were making snuff films with the Orioles and pounding their shit in 14-2, Aaron.

Game's not over yet but it looks like the Cubbies just needed to do some pre-game sledding in Williamsport....

They might just be more comfortable playing in a little league park. :guffaw:

7-1 was nice to see. And the 1 was only Kimbrel working out the kinks. Plus a rare road series win.

Technically, a minor league park. (And I wouldn't knock the kids until you've watched them play.)
And I wasn't joking about the sledding:

It was the site of the Little League World Series, so I went with "little league".

And yeah, I saw the vids of Rizzo, Maddon and Rossy doing some "sledding".

Good stuff, and having all those kids there for the night game was cool. The kids behind home plate mimicing Kimbrels arms-out thing each time was pretty funny.

Actually, I was wrong, the last road series the Cubs won was May 17 - 19.

So they literally went three entire months without winning a series on the road.

I admit I'm proud to say that I was there when Pete Alonso broke the HR rookie record.

NL record. He's got a ways to go to surpass Judge for the overall rookie record.

True but it’s nice to have something to talk about the Mets and it not be a pitcher. Also the Mets have been on a nice little run, while the devision is out of the question, the Wildcard certainly is.
