our Very own Australis’ Catching Light. It’s a collection of short stores the first of which is very good and though provoking; Green and Pleasant Land. Highly recommend! Available on Amazon.

I am currently listening to Multitude by Dean M Cole, narrated by RC Bray. It is the sequel to Solitude. In the first book a mysterious light wave makes all animal life on Earth, including humans, disappear. The only survivors are Vaughan Singleton, a test pilot, and Angela Brown, an astronaut who is surviving with dwindling resources on the Space Station. Vaughan must find a way to bring her back to Earth.

In the second book Vaughan and Angela are trying to discover what the light wave was.

Folx - @Australis ebook is amazing so far. The first story is an exploration of a world where Hannibal’s descendants conquer Europe told in part by Shakespearean tragedy. The next two are the post-humanity culture robots create in earth and beyond. Not sure if they are all in the same universe but I am really excited about reading further. This is excellent world-buildy stuff. Highly recommend!

Masters of the Air, by Donald L. Miller, a biography of the Eighth Air Force during WWII. It is an incredibly good book, and I've already learned things i never knew about WWII.

    My current reads are

Audiobook - The Real Wizard of Oz: The Life and Times of L. Frank Baum by Rebecca Loncraine, narrated by Brooke Hellman.

Kindle book - The Story of Classic Crime in 100 Books by Martin Edwards. I am writing a list of the books I am interested in reading.

Printed book - The Family Court Murders by Debi Marshall. Four murders, 5 bombings, no convictions. These murders took place in Australia between 1980 and 1985. The cases went cold for many years. This book was written in 2014 and in 2015 a man was finally arrested and charged with the crimes. His criminal case started last year and is continuing this year.

Juggling @Australis’s Catching Light, @RobertMaxwell’s Totality: the MilitiaMan and StarTrek Titan: Fortune Of War - BBC is airing The Survivors right now. Kind of a weird pleasant real life smooshup.

Just got done reading Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill. It was pretty good, and very creepy. Now I'm in the middle of reading Fear by Bob Woodward. Very creepy and concerning, read wise.

Almost done with ''Firefly: The magnificent nine'', man I miss this show.
And I hope that we get many more of these novels because the verse is big enough.

Probably starting tomorrow with ''Dragon precinct'' by Keith R. A. DeCandido

I liked Firefly: The Magnificent Nine, also. Gave Jayne a little more depth.
I'm reading The Trial of Lizzie Borden by Cara Robertson. It's very interesting reading and is based on transcripts, previously withheld lawyers's journals, and recently unearthed letters from Lizzie herself.

I am listening to ‘The Daughter of Time’ by Josephine Tey. Well narrated by Derek Jacobi. A policeman who has been injured and his hospital passes the time by examining the historical case of what happened to the Princes in the Tower.

Since my retirement, my reading habits have changed. I used to read tons of scifi, now I just read science and history books. Currently I'm reading a book on the prehistory of North America, from the initial colonization *about* 13 to 15 thousand years ago to about two thousand years ago. I'm currently addicted to reading prehistory. Or archaeology, whichever you want to call it. I prefer prehistory because it more narrowly nails down the time period I like to read about. I not at all interested in the ancient Romans or Egyptians, but what happened before them. The beginnings of the domestication of plants and animals is the time period I'm most interested in.
