I do. If a few hundred years is enough for the Doctor to figure a way of saving Gallifrey, I'd like to think s/he has been on the case of reversing the DoctorDonna issue a bit better than "mind rape" for a few decades, minimum.

I don't know, he didn't really think he did anything wrong until Bill accidentally threw what happened with Clara in his face at the beginning of season ten, so she hasn't had more than a year or so to think about the ethical ramifications of therapeutic mind-wiping.

Which I suppose means the time is right for the Doctor to be reconsidering what she did to Donna and trying to come up with something better.

I didn't mind how the last series started out, but I quickly lost interest and was downright bored by the end. I had such high hopes for Jodie given her credentials and acting chops, but found her Doctor a little too bland. I think she did what she could with the material and don't lay the blame at her feet for one moment. It left such little impression on me that, when I think back, I can barely remember the plot from anymore than one or two episodes.

I felt similar with Capaldi; a fantastic actor who did his best with what he got. Come to think of it, I've leaned on the negative side re: Who since ... probably when Clara turned up?

I'm hoping this upcoming season reconnects with the mythology. I wasn't much of a fan of the Moffat/Capaldi arcs, but I wasn't a fan of wiping them out in favor of episodic alien of the week every episode.

This probably isn't even the right thread for this mini rant. My apologies.

I'm slightly conflicted. On the one hand I have no great desire to see Rose again, on the other I can accept that she's held in awe by a lot of fandom. My view of the character (and Billie in part) can be broken down as follows:

    S1 Rose. Great
    S2 Rose. Annoying as fuck
S4 Rose. Was Billie even playing the same character?
End of Time Rose. Actually quite lovely.
Day of the Doctor not actually Rose. Fab!

Yup, I agree with that breakdown.

I would like to add how odd her look was in season four. Like something serious odd with the way she spoke - WTF?!

I think this was also why she didn't quite sound right in Turn Left.

She didn't sound right the whole series. Bugged the hell outta me - and the fact she looked fine as ever in Day of the Doctor is all the more baffling.

The thing is, you can handwave her accent away in Series 4 quite easily -- she's been on Pete's World for some period of time, and her accent began to drift. Which is perfectly normal for people, as they unconsciously begin to pick up the accents of whomever they're around.

In the real world, of course, Series 4 Rose doesn't sound like Series 1 Rose because 1) Billie Piper had her teeth redone and 2) Piper, by her own admission, had forgotten what Rose's accent was. But you can come up with retcons to explain it in-story. :)

The Moment not sounding like Rose is fine, because the Moment isn't Rose. The Moment only looked like Rose. And whether or not the Moment "looked fine" in Day of the Doctor has nothing to do with her voice.

I rewatched Day of the Doctor yesterday.

I though Billie Piper was on top form. It always gets me a little the 10 doesn't have a moment with her.

Certainly wouldn't mind seeing Rose again, even though Jackie was much better.

Would also like to see the hybrid Doctor again. Just don't want to see Donna again - ever.

    Oh well...

I think the Moment is actually the Bad Wolf. The part Rose, sentient entity created using Rose, and the Time Vortex, meaning that separate conciousness that was born at the battle of Earth Station since being part of the time vortex exists throughout time, was captured in the past by the ancient time lords and fashioned into a box like prison, able to harness its powers, but the drawback is it is sentient. Just my theory...

Have people noted the rumour that we might get another episode of Who in 2019 after all? Link

I seem to recall reading about such a rumor awhile ago but I don't remember if it was in this thread or somewhere else.
