At work we use a large format scanner/printer. to scan and print our
legacy manual and plotted cad drawings.

I think having the blueprints available even with watermarks would be an amazing resource for people who are looking to get into recreating the sets in 3d, that is the main reason why I follow this thread. And while I regret that in recent years I have not really had much time to do any 3d work, (because reasons), having the resources to reference when I do get around to it has always helped me to keep the dream alive that one day I can get back into it.

That biobed looks pretty cool, I'm surprised that they did not just build the bed and then use it as voyager's biobed.

Actually, to clarify on that. The only people who hold any copyright to the images posted on an auction site, are actually the original copyright holders of the content or the Auction site itself. Once it's posted publicly as an ad, whomever buys it does not automatically inherit the sole ownership and rights of the images that are posted there.

I'm not trying to start a fight, and I didn't say I won't continue to contribute, I'm not bragging but I've been one of the more active contributors to this entire project. My goal was to provide a free and fair repository for fans to have useful enough material to recreate the sets in 3D (much as Rekket does), without having to try to buy originals in high quality or to see content get squandered away behind a paywall.

The instant that one person gets stuff taken down that they purchase, anyone can ask and the entire project is potentially at risk. The only position you were really in was, "Do i bow to everyone's demands for take downs, or no ones?". Using images posted on an auction site like that are considered fair use under these conditions. And since they are low quality photos and not HD scans of the original, they won't be confused as counterfeit items.

I'm not looking to start an argument or to trigger a shitfight between people here. I'm just stating that I am very strongly against the approach of removing content at all.

But that's my last word on the matter, I don't want to drag this discussion out or get into a full blown fight with anyone.

@JoeRalat - its a very good compromise idea, I will send you the images. However there is going to a bit a delay on my part (might be a couple of weeks) due to some bad news further down this post.

@Count - we have those in the archive

I have some bad news - as a few of you know, I have some health problems that leave me in a very large amount of pain. These past few months (especially this month) its been getting worse. Working at a computer has become especially exhausting.
As a result, I am going to have to drop all current projects and focus this summer on getting better, resting, and trying some new treatments. So work on blueprints is going to take a break until probably mid autumn.

I will keep updating the archive as new stuff is found, but otherwise I won't be very active online. This is a wonderful community here - these projects wouldn't have got this far without all you. I just won't be an active part of things here for while.

However the Runabout plans (initial configuration) are at a point of completion where I can release them. Any corrections / addendums / additional content will have to delayed to autumn. Lt Washburn has been a really great help with these plans and its thanks to him that we've managed to get to this point.

I'll hopefully be releasing them on Saturday or Sunday (depending on how chaotic Saturday turns out to be).

Your health should always come first - but leaving your work available to others is very much appreciated and I hope you can return to it in the future.

Thank you all for your messages - they mean quite a lot to me. Hopefully I'll be back to my regular self by autumn.

After over a year of work, the first release of the Runabout Project is here - blueprints for the cockpit as it first appeared in the DS9 pilot episode.

The initial configuration (pilot episode) is essentially complete - the only missing parts are the panel on the back of the chairs and the cage around the seat's headrest.

There are a few people I'll like to thank for their help on the project:
    - Lt. Washburn for research into Runabout seats, feedback, proof-reading, error checking and suggested improvements. I feel these plans would not be as polished without his help over the past year.
    - Rekkert for 3D modelling the Runabout car seats. My own 3D modelling skills weren't up to the task, and Rekkert was very kind to model this.
    - Jörg Hillebrand and Bernd Schneider for their excellent research into the evolution of the Runabout interior over the seasons. (http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/inconsistencies/runabout_interior.htm ).

If anyone ever builds a set from these plans for a fan film, I'll love to know about it :)

Interesting how they originally envisioned 9 transporter pads in the chamber. Never knew that.

I always wondered about that, because the transporter was built for the pilot and always had 6 pads.
