Yeah, Scarlet Witch should get her own movie. There's so much they could do with her. I know she's getting a TV show, but the TV shows tend to be light on the special effects, so I don't feel it will do her justice.

Good analogy with the trinities. I didn't think of that.

And let's face it. Who among us hasn't resorted to alcohol and empty carbohydrates for, erm, a little too long, to get through a rough patch?

No kidding. We had actually seen the Avengers "assemble", going back to the first movie. No one really cared about that. Everyone was waiting to hear Avengers Assemble! I didn't even notice the actual positions of the characters after I heard one of the most iconic and long awaited catchphrases in comics and MCU history.

She's bi, all bisexual women can summon at least one pegasus at a time. We rarely do it because they're extremely difficult to housebreak and they eat a lot, like 20 horses with the munchies.
Why not make it easier and just add another a woman of color and she teams up with Brie's Captain Marvel. They've already set up Proton and it's heavily implied that her mother and Marvel were a couple, she'd essentially be her stepdaughter. Her mother was a Captain Marvel in the comics, have her get some comic powers and that makes her younger so they can keep the actress. Then we'd have a Marvel family. Feige has also hinted that Ms. Marvel is coming at some point. There's really no limit to how far we could go and we don't have to listen to whiny manchildren upset at Brie for dumbass reasons.

I've seen this suggested elsewhere, and while I think it would've been a cool way to go, I don't think the notion that Carol and Maria were a couple is supported by the performances. In a nutshell: I'd expect a much stronger reaction from someone having the love of their life essentially coming back from the dead after all those years.

That said, either way Carol is/was 100% a second parent to Monica. No question.

And just to be clear since I appreciate what the above may sound like; I'm not opposed to the idea of either Carol or Maria being gay or bi. Just that in this specific instance, I don't buy them as a couple. That read to me much more like an extremely close, non-sexual friendship/surrogate sisters.

From the movie, their status as a couple is ambiguous. What is important to the story is that they are a family--whether their relationship is romantic or platonic.

They eat as much food as 20 horses with the munchies.

I'll equalize this with my wife loved that scene and thought it was a good point of representation that despite being on the nose showed something you rarely seen in movies: women who aren't rivals and can work together without catty or bitchy comments.

...and that's is how the scene was meant to be taken: the "trinity" apart from the rest of the Avengers, but the MCU in general (similar--as you point out--to the relationship Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman play in the JLA/DC overall). Much in the media was made of how each member of this trio would deal with Thanos in what was known to be the last film for RDJ and CE, so they--along with CH, were the only perfect choice in a shot that was the beginning of the end in several ways--for characters and this era of the MCU.

Went to a 10:30 showing this morning. That's the fastest 3 hours I've ever sat through, but I think it might have been a little longer had the theater not had power recliners. Only one trip down the hall after the lights came down, about halfway through.

Overall, it's a great end to a great series. Worth every minute.

Just got back from seeing the movie. Had a good time, was entertained throughout, didn’t seem to drag and provided all the feels. I laughed, I cried and finally smiled. Well done.

You know for a nothing scene and it really was rather dark and inconsequential there's been endless debate (well here) on it. A scene with just one female Avenger gives me as a woman more pride and no it's not Captain Marvel because that too easy. It's Black Widow because she's earned her stripes and the respect.

Scarlet Witch, too. She did better against Thanos than any of the boys single handedly, and I have yet to see a complaint about that. As someone above thread said, give her a movie, too! These characters more than earned it and we'd be there to support it I'm sure.
