    A's Pitcher Mike Fiers has a no hitter thru 8 against the Reds.

    Doing my best to ruin his mojo and break it up.

    This after the game was delayed 2 hours because the A's dump of a stadium couldn't get the lights to work.

    The Cubs have activated Mike Montgomery, placed Ben Zobrist on the restricted list (he's been given a leave of absence for personal reasons), moved Pedro Strop to the IL.

    And Addison Russell is starting at 2B tonight. :barf:

    If you saw Pedro blow that Marlins game two nights ago with 3 walks, you's have assumed he was injured. I hope Montgomery is back in form and hope everything's OK with Z.

    As I recall, Zobrist has a very badly ill family member. The team has kept quiet about it, but he took leave during spring training for the same reason and it was hinted through the media that it's either his wife or his son.

    I'm curious what Russell's teammates think of him and him still being on the team. Any 'nudge, nudge, wink, wink' chatter about that? I gotta believe there are players in that clubhouse that don't want him there.

    In his filing, Zobrist said his wife “has been guilty of inappropriate marital conduct which render further cohabitation impossible,” which is legalese for "she's been banging a bunch of other dudes."

    Double ouch.

    Edit: As someone who knows firsthand just how deeply divorce impacts both the mind and the soul, I genuinely hope they can get through this process with kind hearts and without cruelty towards one another.

    I know my ex-wife and I didn't. :(

    I googled the "inappropriate marital conduct" thing, and even there it says more often than not, both parties put that in as reason. Dueling lawyers and all.

    I hope Zo gets his head straight and can come back strong.
