Poll Who would you like to see be Discovery's next captain?

Wouldn't Robau be an Admiral by now? He was a captain 20 or so years ago.

 

The captain should be like the chief engineer or senior medical officer. They exist on the ship but we never, ever see them or even know their name.

 

That's a fine theory for a very different kind of show. Never, ever showing the captain when the main bridge is basically the show's primary location would be idiotic, though.

 

The captain should be like Vera from Cheers or Maris from Frasier.

 

Not unless the new captain transfers Burnham and company to the night shift!

 

I really don't want Saru as the captain, because that means he has a target on his back, if you presume the goal is eventually to have Michael in the chair. Most likely he would be "one and done" - either dead or otherwise written out of the main cast by the end of the third season.

 

I like to think Robau is President of the Federation as of DSC.

 

Jeffrey Combs back in Andorian make-up, wondering where the heck Discovery has got to, pacing up and down somewhere on Vulcan.

Season three, still unnamed, his first (and only) appearance—strapped to a surgery table about to undergo a tonsillectomy.

"What do you mean the Discovery was commandeered by Captain Pike? On who's Authority? I was told that was to be my ship!"

"Admiral Cornwell."

"that's impossible. She's still in hospital with a broken back! I talked to her last week."

"Oh, no, sir. I've just received a report the Garth of Izar may have escaped from his rehabilitation facility several months ago."

Now it all starts to make sense...
