What makes those not serious? Not saying I picked either, but still. Bell-curve and all. Not everyone voting either 1 or 10 is clowning about. I honestly don't know how this kind of survey is evaluated (I failed statistics class at university XD), so that's a real question.

Interesting that TrekBBS isn't one of the "sites you visit for news."

I listed internet forums as news sites (not just Trek BBS but back in the day it was also Trek United, RIP). I think all the feedback is great, positive or negative, and I imagine the show runners agree. It means people give a damn enough to say something -- even to trash the show. Apathy is super-hard to overcome.

As I've learned at a market research class at university, the main difference from actual scientific surveys with properly constructed and weighed population samples is that in market research, you can weigh the results however the hell you want until it kind of looks presentable at a management meeting. Any and all questions about what weighs you should apply, what to throw out, etc. can and should be answered with "that depends." Yeah, the professor (an external lecturer working at a big market research firm) might have been a bit more cynical than needed. But the point is, as the sample is not really representative, they will have to choose what scores and opinions to concentrate on for themselves.

God, that was a lot of questions. I'm glad it wasn't over the phone.

On a tangential note: "Tell Me A Story" sounds like an interesting series.

They say there are 10 ratings and we say there are 10 ratings over here, but there are only really three:

    Satisfied (7-10)
    In-Between (5-6)
    Dissatisfied (1-4)

I bet they'd probably look at it like a three-way division too. I know that whenever I put out a survey card about a service or ask for feedback about anything, I only look at it like that. They're either satisfied, dissatisfied, or they give a mixed review.

Pretty sure you can switch to incognito mode and fill out this survey as many times as you want. ;)

I got emailed the poll, so I added my two cents . . . or should that be two credits? Explained that I mostly just subscribed for DISCO and would definitely be back for Season 3. Picking a favorite character was rough, but I went with Tilly in the end and, when asked for a reason, stated that she was "fucking cool." :)

I also rated the show a 9, mostly because I'm allergic to superlatives.

Picked Pike, said the show would be better with more of a ensemble cast, less time focusing on Burnham, more time hearing from secondary characters

I picked Saru and told them they need more alien leaders on the bridge. My fav is Lorca before the MU nonsense

I didn't mention the BBS. Wasn't sure whether it was a good idea or not.
