Agreed, but, GOG does a darned good job of making older games "just work" on new PCs so non-techies can play them without having to become techs, or beg us elder grognards to get them working for them. (And for that matter, some of us elder grognards might want to play without having to spend our valuable time fighting with config files, too. )

 

The NES Classic is in plentiful stock directly through Amazon for $60. Are the shortages finally over?

Ubisoft is giving away a free copy of Assassin's Creed Unity for PC from now through April 24.

The Sims 4 is free on Origin until May 28. Available for both Mac and PC.

 

Got it last year when it was going for $20, it's definitely worth snapping it up.

 

Weird. I tried getting it, but can only seem to get the "purchase as a gift" option...

ETA: Nevermind, I got it through the website storefront instead of through the client. I guess there's some weird bug with the Origin client that stops you making "purchases" directly? Seems odd.

 

Oh yeah I've had that happen in the past. Logged out of the client and log back in seemed to fix it for me.

From the 4th of July to the 11th of July, Overcooked is free there.

From the 11th of July to the 18th of July, Torchlight is free there.

From the 18th of July to the 25th of July, Limbo is free there.

From the 25th of July to the 2nd of August, both Moonlighter and This War of Mine are free there.

From the 2nd of August to the 9th of August, both Alan Wake and For Honor are free there.

From the 9th of August to the 15th of August, GNOG is free there.
