The Casting of this series is extremely bad

Yeah, let's not do this. Firstly, people are free to criticise the show and its cast if they wish to and you can either make counterpoints politely, or ignore them.

Secondly, please leave US politics out of this - it's not relevant to whether the show can be criticised or not.

Anyway, one casting choice I thought was particularly inspired was Rainn Wilson as Harry Mudd. Really well done.

Funny thing, these two posters who are getting personal arguing with each other and making things needlessly political are actually the same person posting with a dual account. So he's trying to drum up political disagreements between other posters.

So, I'm giving you both a two-point infraction for being a dual to take you off the field until the admins can permaban you both. Bye bye. No comments to PM.

ETA: Sorry to step on your toes, cultcross, I just noticed this after you had already addressed the political post above.

Thank you to everyone in the thread for not falling for the political non sequitur the dual was using to try and cause trouble. :techman:

I'd ask where that came from, but I see it was a crash & burn kinda moment.

Wow. Some people have a colossal amount of spare time on their hands. Wish they could just sell it to me (would advance my dissertation research if I could "add time" to archive hours).

Please don’t tell everyone. This is why we can’t have nice things.

    Heh...
But it's also why you have just a teeny bit more time to spend chatting rather than modding.

There is a trade-off, for one I don't get to go to the afterlife. I'll be stuck here.

I know this thread has veered a bit from the basics, but as someone who has a lot of problems with DSC (mostly writing, a few production design, none about canon though it's an interesting topic), I must loudly declare that the casting is fantastic. The actors are great across the board. Even Sir Patrick couldn't save some of the early TNG clunkers, so asking great-but-not-RSC-great actors to elevate the material is asking a working warp drive from Newton. Let Newton be impressively Newtonian.

Now, now. A music video of Quinto and Peck having a Bilbo Ballad duel at each other while Martin Freeman (back in his costume) wonders around the set wondering whats going on would be fun.

Casting isn't the problem. The writing -- so much stupid.
