STO said their brains have chronitons in them, hence why they have perfect recall over their immortal lifespans BUT it means that, if they time-travel into the past, they will lose their memories of the intervening period (i.e. if one from 2019 goes back to 1984, it only remembers what it knew IN 1984... presumably going back before its own birth would wipe its mind completely).

Of course, WHY they couldn't take a database with them to fill in the gaps on arrival is a plothole you could drive one of their Dyson Spheres through.

Could the Red Angel be Sybok?

    Probably not...

I think Burnham or someone other familiar to the Discovery crew will be the Red Angel.

With the galactic history from the sphere, Jet Reno's improvisational engineering, Stamets and the spore drive, Tilly's research on the dark matter, Burnham/Spock/Red Angel intersection, Discovery's crew sure looks like its building up to be the originators of the Red Angel which is out repairing something from their future.

I gave it a 7. Good episode but the Red Angel stuff felt tacked on to me.

I'm liking the ship's AI becoming the red angel theory more, that Screenrant presented.

Just for a bit of fun a friend in the Philippines says that Baul means chest of drawers so the Baul are also really useful bits of furnitture.

Maybe a version of Spock scanned by V'Ger during the spacewalk & mind-meld? It would explain why Spock is so connected to....Spock.

Does this humanoid seem to possess feminine physical traits? The higher and wider hips, in particular, definitely implies female to me. And short. Probably not much taller than an even 5 feet.

I kept seeing Ba'ul written and thinking "weren't they the baddies in Insurrection?" I've just finally clicked that was the Ba'ku.

Can you imagine how eviscerated the writers would be if they did that?! No, I highly doubt they're going in that direction.

I did. I'm assuming the forced evolution of all Kelpiens caused many deaths (probably accidents and what not). And, the entire world was upended. We've seen large unintended consequences with smaller interventions here on Earth. Imagine this?! Not all Kelpiens will be peaceful like Saru. Some would want vengeance for the big lie. Chaos would ensue.

Can we not use forced evolution. Bad enough Star Trek writers don't understand evolution but this is the natural Kelpian life cycle. The Ba'ul were culling them at puberty, essentially. Sure, I expect there will be lots of bad consequences from this but there was no forced evolution. There was no change of the species they just didn't get Logan's Run-ed.

Thank you ........... I was thinking this last night and it occurred to me that they were all getting carouseled... Good catch.

I found this poster online and is that a ship near Tilly's shoulder? I think someone brought this up in another thread. Anyway circled it on the picture.

The back end does seem to have a red exhaust trail and there is what might be a white exhaust trail behind that so it's possible that is a ship.

Is it just Discovery in the asteroid field?

They did a bunch of variations on that image.
