The Time Tsunami part? I’m not sure how that’s significant. Guessing it might be episode 6, “The Sounds of Thunder” .
I was thinking more Spoiler Spock saying goodbye to the S31 dude. Seems to lend credence to the fan theory that they were responsible for him being placed in the facility.
That title might be too "literaturally literal" a reference for Star Trek. If there is an episode like that, I'd call it something more TOS-Trekky, such as "Of Dinosaurs and Butterflies."
Ok, trekmovie has a video of this: https://trekmovie.com/2019/02/03/watch-star-trek-discovery-super-bowl-spock-teaser/
Even though I'm not a big fan of Micheal, I really hate how they've decided this season to completely and totally undercut her character to make her the exposition-fairy for Spock. I mean, she's being upstaged by a character who hasn't even been seen yet.
Well there are shots in the other trailers of him being wheeled down the corridors of the S31 ship. I'm not going to spoiler tag information from trailers, unless someone asks me to.
Fun Fact: On IMDb, "New Eden" (S02E02) is currently the best-rated of all released Star Trek: Discovery episodes, while "Point of Light" (S02E03) is currently the worst-rated of all episodes.
I guess "Point of Light" will go down as "love it or hate it". I generally, when it comes to anything, have more respect for things that are "love it or hate it" -- even if I hate it -- than I do for things that try to aim for the middle and try to please everyone.
I hope the Colbert writers gave you a little taste! Add "Gritty" in there, and you have a pretty good approximation of the Late Show's cold open on Sunday...
Well, no "organic" shameless plug for his new show. I'm disappointed. Also, I'm a Penguins fan, so obviously I despise everything about Gritty. As we Pens fans say "Fuck the Flyers!"
POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR FUTURE EPISODES: This is pure speculation, but I predict that episode 6, The Sounds of Thunder, will be the Saru goes home episode. According to IMDB, episode 6 is written by Bo Yeon Kim (and probably Erika Lippoldt though IMDB doesn't list her yet) and directed by Douglas Aarniokoski. It's the same writers and director who wrote and directed The Brightest Star. Also, the timing of when Berg and Harberts were fired and production took a break between episodes 5 and 6 lines up. Short Treks were announced approximately a month later. Also, based on episode 5's title, Saints of Imperfection, and photo that IMDB has for the episode (Georgiou on the Discovery), episode 5 will be a heavy Section 31 episode.
If all of this is true, then everything we've seen from the trailers (other than possibly the introduction of Spock) will have happened by the sixth episode. This is kinda exciting, because it means that not a clue regarding the back half of the season has leaked out.
I agree! Episodes 7 - 14 we don't have too many details except who's credited writing and directing them on IMDB (except for episode 11 which doesn't list the writers). We know the title for episode 9, If Memory Serves, so maybe that's another bottle episode similar to Magic To Make The Sanest Man Go Mad? IMDB has a picture of Spock on its Episode 7 page so I assume he's in that episode. I predict they'll find him in Episode 5, but we'll see.
According to TrekCore, the first publicity shot they were given of Spock by CBS was labelled ‘207’. So that might be why.
This is kinda nice. Folk haven't been this hepped-up about incoming Trek episodes around here in a very long time. Feels great.
