Well, I took the plunge (swallowed the Kool-Aide, whatever..) and signed up for the Eaglemoss subscription. I've been toying with the idea of doing this for a while now and finally gave in. Expensive? Yeah, not for the faint at heart, but I do have to say that the quality of what I've received so far (up to issue 8, I believe) looks impressive.

Has anyone else in the TrekBBS world subscribed to this build? Are you happy with the model and what you've built? Any pitfalls you'd like to share (so I can avoid them)? Problems? Pointers?

I thought about doing a build up thread, but kind of nixed that notion. Considering this will take years to complete, I figured folks would get bored. I'm likely to let several months pass and then build everything I have received to date in one shot and then let several more months pass ( lather, rinse, repeat...) .

    Anyone ..... ?

I guess I’m alone on this one. I figured someone in TrekBBS land had signed up for this when it first started. Oh well, I guess this can fade into obscurity. Thanks for your attention.

Can't speak for others, but even though I'm a huge fan of BTTF and think the finished model of the DeLorean looks all kinds of awesome, this came simply at too high a price point for me. I'm already collecting the Starships Collection and can sometimes hardly justify paying for that. So starting another one was out of the question.

I don't think I have seen WIP or finished images of the completed model outside of what Eaglemoss has shown, so I'd be pretty happy to see you sharing your progress with us! :)

If I only had that kind of money...

I'm not even collecting the Starships, although I'd love to get a few of those.

I would love something like the Delorean. However, I'm not sure I know of too many 9-inch figures to go with it. Most in that range are 8-inches, aren't they? I don't know...I don't collect 1/8 or 1/9 figures, but no matter, I'd still love to have that car and I would love for you to post images.

The money and space it would take up is too much for me, even being a huge BTTF fan. (Same reason I never splurged on the Hot Toys DeLorean.) I'm content with my deluxe Hot Wheels DeLorean. But hope it all goes well for you!

I'm fast approaching retirement I can't afford to buy all that nice eagle moss material unless the lottery gods smile down upon me.

Yeah, the cost is not for the faint at heart. Works out to be $51 USD per month for something like 2-1/2 years :brickwall:
The parts I've received so far appear to be high quality, mostly some sort of metal and highly detailed.
Good luck on the starship collection. I've seen several on the Eaglemoss site that I'd like to have!

I've got a bunch of starships in my collection, but when I saw this Delorean, complete with lighting and awesome detail, I just had to have one. Mrs.Q2 thinks I'm completely off my rocker. I'd love to get a Marty figure, definitely would want a matching Doc Brown figure too. I think I have seen pictures of an after market Marty 1/8 scale figure, complete with correct cloths, video recorder and skateboard for sale somewhere for a fairly ridiculous price. Perhaps someone will offer figures in the near future.

Space is rapidly becoming an issue, as you surmised. Each 'issue' of parts comes in it's own quasi-blisterpack. The 6 'issues' I've received to date (I think it's 6) is taking up a good sized box sitting on my workbench. I have a feeling I'll need to assemble some of the parts in fairly short order just get the space need for storage down to something manageable! Too much plastic packaging (rest assured, I'll recycle it properly ;) )

Thanks for the reply's. At least I know I wasn't whistling in the wind..

I'm considering it. Might be another month or two before I have received enough parts to make it worth a go. Problem is, it will be a thread over two and a half years in duration! Hope the Mod's will play along! ;)
