Kurtzman needs to leave. He is now the Kevin Fiege of Star Trek and unlike Fiege he isn't even a fan an his Kelvin timeline and ideas imo are ruining Trek and I dread the idea of merging the timelines that I read online yesterday - that better not happen, the apparent aim being to make the Kelvin timeline canon and make the past shows not canon. DAMN you Les Moonves

Amazing, everything you just said was wrong.

The timelines are nor merging at all. The Supernova being in the Prime Timeline has been canon since 2009, and it wasn't in an alternate timeline.

I hope they don't merge my friend, heard about it yesterday, although making a post Star Trek 09 show about Picard and the effect the destruction of Romulus had on him does seem like their way to validate and vindicate the Kelvin timeline

They're not merging the timelines, who ever said that was lying, and the Kelvin Timeline is just as valid as any other.

The Picard Show follows the events of the Prime Timeline.

Oh ok, how you feel about the Kelvin timeline, would you prefer a post Voyager / DS9 show? Maybe Worf exploring the Delta quadrant? Thanks my friend

Pretend Nero is Biff and that instead of creating an alternate 1985, he created an alternate 23rd Century. The only difference between Back to the Future, Part II and Star Trek is that both timelines exist. The Original Timeline and The Alternate Timeline.

The Picard Series takes place in The Original Timeline. The Kelvin Films take place in The Alternate Timeline, created by Nero when he got sent back in time.

    • In the Original (Prime) Timeline, Romulus was destroyed in 2387. Eight years after Nemesis.
    • In the Alternate (Kelvin) Timeline, Vulcan was destroyed in 2258.

Thanks Garth, appreciate your message my friend - how do you feel about the two timelines, would you prefer a post Voyager / DS9 show? Maybe a Capt. Worf show exploring the Delta Quadrant?

"Why Spock has never mentioned his half-sister Michael Burnham is such a major question to anybody who knows that character that it felt like we needed an entire season devoted to the answer rather than just one small episode."

Hmmmm. That implies something happens to Discovery. Or Burnham and Spock have such a major falling out that he doesn't even want to talk about her. Because I like both characters, I hope it's the former.

I am curious to see how they address Spock never mentioning her. But that's all I am with STD, curious. Not dying to watch each week like I was with TNG, Voyager, DS9 and Enterprise.

DSC is what brought me back to Star Trek and I can't wait for Season 2 to start. The more I hear, the more it gives me material to speculate with.

Spock never talks about his family unless it comes up.

Kirk didn't even know his father was Ambassdor Sarek, he didn't know Spock had a Half-Brother.

^^^ This. Spock has canonically mentioned that he isn't predisposed to speaking on personal matters. This falls squarely in that category.

Kurtzman has all his fingers in the Trek pie. Put simply, he's the new Rick Berman.
