One of my teachers said he knew the members of Human League when he was at uni. Mind you, he also said his mate had a flat share with Eddie Izzard and he couldn't stand him.

The first thing I ever heard by the Human League was "Empire State Human" on the radio. First thing I bought was a Canadian 45 with "Blind Youth" on one side and "I Don't Depend on You" on the other. "Blind Youth" is still probably my favourite song of theirs, but album-wise, I like Travelogue more than Reproduction.

Not "former". They still tour and make a very occasional album.

Forgive me for forgetting 50 years of "Doctor Who" but a nice portrayal of an American would be a good change. I can't remember the last time we had a decent representation of the United States.

    Maybe that stand-in for Obama?

    The President from season 3

    Henry van Statten

    Shouting. Gun-toting stereotype.

The Trump stereotype was SOOO BAD!! in "Arachnids in the U.K"

    -Clean freak washing his hands

    -SHOOT THEM!!!

-I'll show you Fire and Fury!

BTW anyone notices that this season like to do the type of filming shots where people are waiting for their queue to step in?

Something about this season in the way it's presenting itself seems below what we've seen the last couple of years.

I know the cameras and filming are much more crisp but do they have a relatively inexperienced crew now?

I know, I just saw them recently. I meant "Former Rock" band. My favorite version of the band was with guitarists Steve Clark and Pete Willis, back when they were a rock band and not the pop artists they are today.

Gotcha. I can hear the difference from their first couple albums to later on too, and I still like them for the most part.

The only Def Leppard song I have ever liked was "Animal" and recently I heard an old song called "Embryonic Man" by the Human League which is an oldie.

Probably "The Return of Doctor Mysterio" (2016 Xmas special), then "A Town Called Mercy", then probably the one with the Daleks in Manhatten. It's possible you have to back to the 1996 McGann film after that, then perhaps Peri in the eighties.

What is Rosa Parks if not American? Or MLK? Nixon and Canton Delaware didn't come off too badly.

Is not Captain Jack technically American?

I hate how much I like this joke.

He identifies himself as American, yes, though I'm sure the Boeshane Peninsula's location on another planet counts as outside America.

Only if they've staked a claim to off-world colonies like Boeshane in the 51st Century.

Jack's probably not even pure human, given his comments on the propensity of interspecies sex in his time period.

You can have sex without producing a child. It would be more likely interspecies sex wouldn’t produce a child. He’s more likely totally human. That’s, of course, if Doctor Who is scientifically accurate in this case.

Colony ships, nationalist avatars, left in the 27th century. EG Starship UK.

Starhip US probably existed, unless each state was "rich" enough for their own star ship.

40th century, Earth is recovered from the solar storms.

The last human being, who is a lying racist, from the year 5 billion, said that her father was a Texan.

The original was. The Doctor's companion assumed the identity.

EDIT - whether that includes the accent or not is unknown.

(Fake) Captain Jack has a (personal) universal translator?

If so, his accent is a setting.

Maybe it's stuck on American, like the TARDIS was stuck on Police Box for 900 years?

Jack appeared under the same showrunner that had a woman giving birth to a litter of cats, if that's relevant. ;)
