What will you be dressing yourself up as for Halloween?

I didn't mean change the dress but it was just the only picture I saw of her with the veil. I don't know much about fashion so maybe a veil wouldn't go with the type of dress that you bought. I also got a little too much sun yesterday so I probably wasn't making much sense.

Originally, I would not have bothered, but our company is hosting an "employee appreciation" luncheon on the 31st and the official e-mail actually encouraged people to "dress up". This is something new for this company. Halloween motifs have been discouraged in the past

Anyway, since we've been given the "green light", I'm planning to dress as Tom Baker from "Doctor Who". Now, it won't be really "screen accurate" except for the "series 12" scarf I own (and use during cold weather). The rest will be "near enough" elements. I found a brown corduroy blazer at the local GoodWill that vaguely resembles the "safari" jacket Tom wore in his debut series. I can make do with grey slacks, a white button down shirt and a thin, cream colored sweater vest. I have a moderate "cosplay" quality fedora and just last Saturday, I received a pretty good brown curly wig in the mail. I have a Character Options 4th Doctor sonic screwdriver cosplay toy and I might lug around the radio controlled half scale K-9 for added comic effect.

Mind you, I look nothing like Tom Baker. I'm just 5 foot 8 and have a 42 to 43 inch waistline. But it's more for the absurdity rather than attempting "celebrity double".

I bought the tree trunk part of the costume and the maple leafs. The leafs will go on my arms, as I said. The total cost for both was $15. The trunk is camouflage cloth.

I'll probably just dye my hair red or something, so it looks like a fall color. Still have to nail down the exact way I'll arrange leafs on my head.

Can you get that coloured hair spray? Bleaching and dying one's hair is rough on it.

I'm looking into that. I wouldn't do bleach. That's too much for a one-day thing.

I actually haven't gone out for Halloween since I was nine...I lost all interest in trick or treating after that. I think it was the weather - Halloween of 1979 around here was really cold and windy and brutal. Only reason I went out that night was so my sister's extensive work in making me a costume (Superman) wouldn't go to waste.

And just to give a heads-up on how cold it was that night: I had to wear a ski mask. Imagine that. Superman wearing a ski mask. I bet the people only gave me candy because it distracted them from how stupid I looked. :alienblush:

A couple of friends are going to dress like soldiers. They told me they will plan to leave their toy weapons at home and were just holding it for this picture.

We're going to a themed murder mystery this year and it looks like I'm Dracula. Works for me, may as well dress up as one of the classics!

I'm currently trying to decide between the Bela Lugosi\Universal style, or Christopher Lee.

Also on ebay I saw a proper opera cape from a Saville Row Taylor and I was all *god dammit*, because it was cheap for what it was but still too much for a party costume.

My Captain America Helmet is done, put a coat of primer on the shield last night. I'm doing the Leather Jacket "Bucky rescue" version.

Here's something I recorded in 2015, that I'm part of and in during points of. It was on Halloween and the event was The Metcalf Haunt. It's about 22 minutes and it's a mix of the haunted house, some interviews the people who put the event together, some performing, and just people having a good time.

If you want the see the part where I'm interviewed, it starts at the 13:05-mark. I hope you get a kick out of the interviews and I hope you get a kick out of the haunt!

And I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween! Or, if not, then at least a scary one.
