Cross Cult also announced their fourth novel for 2019, New Frontier Vol. 17. So, the next months, there will be 5 books in Germany: Dezember 2018 Star Trek - Corps of Engineers, Band 00d (Taschenbuch) » Sammelband 4: Unmögliches ist unser Metier – Januar 2019 Star Trek - Voyager, Band 12 (Taschenbuch & E-Book) Kleine Lügen erhalten die Feindschaft I - von Kirsten Beyer Februar 2019 Star Trek - Rise of the Federation, Band 4 (Taschenbuch & E-Book & Hörbuch) Prinzipientreue - März 2019 Star Trek - Voyager, Band 13 (Taschenbuch & E-Book) Kleine Lügen erhalten die Feindschaft II - von Kirsten Beyer April 2019 Star Trek - New Frontier, Band 17 (Taschenbuch & E-Book) Mörderisches Spiel - von Peter David
New Frontier was to be expected. They already showed the new cover. I guess they want to finish the New Frontier series as soon as possible. They don't plan the New Frontier e-books only novels, so this one will be the last.
The guys who should now best (the publisher) also have it listed for August 13th: http://www.simonandschuster.com/boo...x/Star-Trek-The-Original-Series/9781982113209
Well this is disappointing. I was really hoping/ expecting we’d be back on the every month plan relatively soon.
And 3 more novels announced by Cross Cult for 2019: Mai 2019 Star Trek - The Next Generation, Band 14 (Taschenbuch & E-Book) » Absturz - von Dayton Ward August 2019 Star Trek - Deep Space Nine (Taschenbuch & E-Book) » Lichter im Dunkel - von David R. George III September 2019 Star Trek (Taschenbuch & E-Book) » Sektion 31 - Kontrolle - von David Mack
Literally, "Crash." An oddly indirect translation. It means "Lights in the Dark." I'm not sure what it would be.
I'm not sure if the titles remain as they are right now. Maybe Cross Cult offers an explanation. I'm not on Facebook, but I can ask in the CC Forum.
I don't think, Cross Cult will change the names. Many german book-titles are no exact translations of the original titles. Often, Cross Cult tries just to translate the titles, or just change them a little bit. But there are many examples, where the german titles have nothing in common with the originals. DS9 Avatar became "Offenbarung", which means "Revelations" DS9 Ascendance became "Vorherrschaft" ("Supremacy") TNG Before Dishonor became "Heldentod" (Hero's Death) TNG Takedown - "Jagd" (Hunt) The Fall: A Ceremony of Losses - "Auf verlorenem Posten" translates "Lost Post", but means "fighting a losing battle" TOS "Mudd in your eye" ignores the Harry Mudd theme and is just "Der Friedensstifter" (The Peacemaker) and many more....... So I'm sure, these will be the final titles of the german translation.
Yep. Sometimes CC takes a striking phrase from the content of the book or puns that aren't translatable....
A brief interview I did recently for WVXU radio’s Around Cincinnati program has now gone live: New Sci Fi Short Stories From Local Author Christopher Bennett Among other subjects, it reveals a bit more information about Star Trek: The Original Series: The Captain’s Oath.
Good interview. Looking forward to Captain's Oath. Gotta say though that interviewer was over-mellow even for public radio. Did you have her sedated before you began the interview?
