Who is the best actor to play Lex Luthor ?

A good animated film too I enjoyed that one crisis on infinite earths

 

TBH, all of these actors fit the role to the mold. Bold, evil genius guy who wants to kill Superman.

 

Well, none of them ever stole fourty cakes, so they all fall short in my opinion.

 

John Shea - Season 1 Lois & Clark - is my all time favorite. When he had decent material, he was fantastically machiavellian and best epitomised the fiercely intelligent, uber-wealthy Luthor who hid in plain sight. This thread subject has popped up several times over years and it always surprises me how underrated Shea was. I think he is often overlooked because he departed the series early and his subsequent returns were hampered by shitty storylines as the series took a nose dive.

 

John Shea plays a very good lex very underrated ! I actually know that I think about it I prefer his characterization to even gene Hackman him and Michael are tied !

 

One more to add to that list: Rainn Wilson. He plays Luthor in The Death of Superman and it's sequel The Reign of the Supermen.

 

Oh yeah Dwight from the office Rainn Wilson ok I will add him to the list that's cool that he also voiced him!

 

Clancy Brown overall, no contest. If I had to choose from only the live action ones, then Michael Rosenbaum

I don't know. I can't decide between Gene Hackman, Michael Rosenbaum and Jesse Eisenberg.

 

Kevin Spacey's portrayal was a more darker vengeful version of the Gene Hackman Lex

 

That's a good thing, because Returns is meant to be a sequel to the Christopher Reeve film(s) involving Hackman.

 

I liked Spacey's portrayal, which makes sense now that we know he was a comic book villain the whole time.

 

Is Spacey charged or are there still only accusations?
I have only heard of chargers against men but not many chargers on the news

 

To my knowledge, there have been no formal charges, but Spacey is beyond toxic and will remain as such indefinitely...

 

He has reports this time in London from years ago of more sexual allegations wow just more darkness surrounding him!

 

He really is a toxic person !

 

There's Gene Hackman and there's Clancy Brown. I have no clue what any of those other people are doing on this list.

 

C'mon Michael Rosenbaum deserves to be on the list he played Lex for seven years, Admiral and John Shea played Lex for over 3 years.

 

Shea gets an Honorable Mention from me then. I don't count Rosenbaum because I hated Smallville.
