I have a very close friend who is in the midst of transitioning careers. She has worked for a number of years, as a "niche" style editor, for a large corporation (I use that qualifier, as I'm still not sure I fully understand the role). She is now seeking to accrue knowledge and introductory experience in the field that she is convicted, is to be the next realm in her working life, that of progressing in expertise and opportunities in SEO.

I must elaborate that a condition under which it is requisite to be met, is that her employment must be set to be realized, as strictly needing to be remote in nature. Also, my friend is available to contract with either American or Canadian firms.

Based on these bare descriptions, I wish to kindly ask that anyone that is in the possession of recommending a reputable firm, that they either have direct knowledge of, or very dependable anecdotal detail on, please forward such information to me, at their earliest convenience. Believe me, this kind of assistance, if available, represents a gift of great value, that would always be appreciated.

Thanks to all, in advance, for your consideration.

I would imagine a networking utility such as Linkedin, or even employment based facebook groups would be a better option for this.

Thank you, Dimesdan. I strongly suspect that those sources have been tapped, my friend being pretty tightly connected on both forums. My sense is that with the complement of members here who are active in technology generally, a query of this sort, might elicit some genuinely helpful responses. My one uncertainty was whether such a thread might not pass official muster, but that if that was the case, I would find out soon enough.

Was it a misdemeanor or a felony? :D

I had to do a google search on this one, which is funny because the first option for SEO is "search engine optimization."

Good luck in your friend's job search, by the way.

If you mean that you were concerned that the thread might not be appropriate for this forum, then no worries, it's fine.

Good luck to your friend as she starts on this new journey!
