love in fiction has no boundaries between two different beings from other worlds! ever noticed that lately in mainstream media lately even when The Shape of Water won the academy award?

I remembered 31 years ago when i was 5 years old when i first saw The All New Adventures of Mighty Mouse's Littlest Tramp episode which is one of my fave episodes that deals with a human rich man named Murray who at the end married a lovely blonde mouse lady named Polly of the episode and even kissed and starred in another episode together. That really opened my mind when i saw that episode along with Beauty and the Beast the CBS series the one with Ron Perlman (Hey i had a thing for Linda Hamilton back then and i watched it with my mom ok and i found Vincent to be a relatable character) as it had a human woman and a humanoid cat person who was born from a tribe/race of cat people, Star Trek the Next Generation (xeno x xeno plus human x xeno), the episode of the Smurfs where Handy and a mermaid fell in love, reading Swamp Thing comics (Abigale anr Swamp Thing), and Splash taught me love is not by appearance or race/species of person but by who the person is in fiction as some of those shows Beauty and the Beast/all 3 Star Trek shows/Gargoyles/X-Men/Alien Nation etc taught me to respect people who are different (ethnicity or skin color or deformity or different culture) with respect even in case we have good alien visitors someday Same thing with shows/movies when i was a kid like NightCourt, Scarface, Karate Kid 2, Brewster's Millions, Tales from the Darkside the movie, La Bamba, Gargoyles (Eliza's parents), MASH etc. all showed/taught me love isn't by the color of one's skin or ethnicity in real life.

Then later i saw Alien Nation the series (Cathy and Matt), Babylon 5, Gargoyles (gargoyle male and human female), X-Men the series (a mutant blue cat-ape humanoid man and a human woman plus Hepzibah/Corsair which i read in the comics of Marvel which has a human male X alien furry skunk cat-woman in love even a mutant named Xavier with Lilandra an alien bird woman) and all expanded my mind further when i get into the stories. I don't considered any of these as "beastiality", not to me. To me, Beastality is with an ordinary regular 4 legged feral animal creature like am ordinary beagle getting sexually hurt by a human or furry or xeno or mutant for example as that would be beastality since it's a thing that cannot think or consent or have feelings especially romanatic like a Being would and it isn't a Being who has same structures/body build parts//nor humanoid like any Being in general is since humanoids have human level intelligence.

Xenos (strange form of folk even alien kind to magical creature beings like gargoyles), cyborgs, furries (you know animal-like humanoid beings like Bojack Horseman characters and furry artwork like you seen or fanfiction) and mutants do not always represent the "inferior" beings sometimes as portrayed in stories or in some mainstream media. They represent "people who look or are different" metaphorically in fiction (even if xenos do actually exist on other planets and furries exist in another dimension with us humans as i believe in alternate dimensions) and some should be accepted as people in their own universes as humans are not the only people around as there is life out there in the universe as they are races of beings. Me and one of my favorite comic artist/regular artists named Hatton Slayden who draws sci-fi/fantasy art who does excellent science fiction/fantasy artworks even these beautiful expressive art of human males in love with females like furries or xenos or cyborgs and mutants) who are both the same age and he was raised/taught not to be a bigot/racist or judge anyone by their surface (skin color/ethnicity/different cultural background etc.) but to treat them all with respect even as equals with different skills/abilities.

I was taught in a similar way like him only for me it was TV shows/movies like the ones i mentioned which have some human X humanoid romances or with earth humans of different ethnicity in love while X-men/Alien Nation/Gargoyles/Star Trek/Beauty and the beast show with Elephant Man (had allegories to bigotry/racism to them and about accepting people who look different) to all the way my big brother to one of my mom's boyfriends also taught me never to be a racist/bigot to people who look different even who looks different than us white folk even by the surface nor by deformed people or ethnicity and all to treat all people who look different with respect and dignity as their surface should not matter but who the person is.".
But nowadays thanks to the successes of mainstream movies/show/games like Doctor Who (Vastra X Jenny), Bojack Horseman (furries romancing furries even married or romancing humans plus having families with either furries or humans like Kyle and Charolette a deer furry woman and a human man who are married and conceived 2 kids of their own), Mass Effect (xeno x xeno plus human x xeno), Regular Show (Margot's parents to Skips with Mona to Eillen/Rigby), Blade Runner 2049 (Deckard and Rachel whom conceived a child as Rachel is a bioorganic cyborg), Wolf Children (Wolf man and human woman in love and produced 2 hybrid kids), Warcraft the movie (a half-orc/half human woman's parents being a human male and one orc female plus she is dating a human herself), Skyrim, Legend of Zelda, Voltron Defender (Hunk and Shay a human male X alien female),and more into the mainstream fictional stuff we all accept human X humanoid race romance in fiction just like in real life with inter-ethnic romance/marriage to same gender marriage with "love wins" which fictional outside race (outside of human race)/species romance is a metaphor/allegory for and finally outside Deviantart/fanfiction sites that have human X different people races (Furries/xenos/mutants/cyborgs) to xeno x xeno (elves and other races of xenos to fish people) romances in art and fanfiction. As we are progressing on this in stories in the mainstream.

So inspiring in the mainstream now to see that appearances don't mean jacksquat. It shouldn't always mean the surface (race or species of being) would keep this up and now we are positive in this day and age of acceptance in fiction/media that people who look different than you don't matter as long as both partners are sentinent, humanoid (furries and xenos and mutants or cyborgs are part of humanoids as we earthling terrpiens are) and consenting adults yet i prefer the human male X other race of different person (Xeno or furry or cyborg or mutant) female variety more than the typical thing of human female with different male person thing.

There's also Booga and Tankgirl in Tankgirl comics, Armitage III and Ross in the anime Armitage III, Link and Ruto in Zelda (elf X fish woman), Vinnie and Charlene on Biker Mice from Mars, Hellboy X Liz, the elf woman with Abe Sapien, Marvel comics, Carly and Hank (aka Beast) from X-Men TAS, Eliza and Goliath on Gargoyles, Farscape (aliens romancing other ones even with humans), Skyrim, Mass Effect, Aragon and Arwen in Lord of the Rings and so much more. Heck i even have a friend writing a fanfiction story series where Minerva Mink and a human male are in love to show they love each other as their surface don't matter but who they are as people even for marriage especially having kids yet that be cool for the reboot to have her date a human guy along with any guy of any species/race of being in an episode of the upcoming reboot series of Animaniacs.

I am an open minded buddist person who believes in equality for everyone who is different looking even aliens from other words in stories if it's between two consenting adults, one person did said ""For love is blind and sees not the color of your skin or for which gods you believe in. Love only sees what matters." and as Prince Lir from one of my favorite fantasy books and one of my favorite animated movies/fantasy films known as "The Last Unicorn" did once said my most favorite quote which i use as my signature when he found out the beautiful woman he loved Lady Amalthea (the title character turned into a human woman) about her secret as told by the wizard Schmendrick about who she really is as Lir said "Unicorn, mermaid, lamia, sorceress, gorgon, vampire, werewolf, gargoyle, elf, fairy, genie..no name you can give her would surprise or frighten me..i love whom i love"

Star Trek only seems to shows pairings between species that are biologically compatible and physically similar, such as human and Vulcan, human and Klingon, etc. What if they were more broad and showed pairings between biologically different species such as human and Gorn, human and Horta, human and Tholian, human and Species 8472, human and Xindi-insectoid, etc.?

"Metamorphosis" comes close, although that alien ultimately adopted a humanoid form in the end.

And Odo is actually a big pile of goo, who also choose to adopt a humanoid form.

Funny this should come up- it was one of the items I addressed in a thread in Trek General about 10 things you'd change if you rebooted the franchise. I'll just quote myself here:

Familiarity plays a big part in what we find attractive, and there are a lot of people out there whose primary romantic/sexual interest doesn't originate in physical attraction. I find it plenty believable that people would be into sex with all manner of vaguely humanoid creatures if they could communicate the way we do with other humans.

I watched a video about designing the fish man from The Shape of Water. They intentionally designed him to be attractive to women and keeping as many nonhuman qualities as they could get away with without making him look too much like a fish. He’s supposed to be closer to a prince than a pike. He even has collars that resemble scales, with muscles and a square jaw. It helped to show how a human woman could fall in love with him and for the audience to do so as well to a lesser degree.

I have less trouble believing people would be sexually interested in aliens who are physically different and more trouble believing the different smells and textures wouldn't be an issue.

Though I think that aside the majority of people would still only be interested in aliens that are similar enough to be beautiful by human standards.

I think it's possible that Miranda Jones and Kollos were soulmates, in the figurative sense; they apparently ended up as such literally, at the very least ("Is There in Truth No Beauty?").

Personally i think Catilians and Hattonslayden's xeno women are much better than the green skinned humaliens Kirk bangs as they actually look like Xenos and i like the more xeno looking xeno women.

    https://www.weasyl.com/~hattonslayden/submissions/899077/date-with-a-queteeah
    https://www.weasyl.com/~hattonslayden/submissions/882555/another-pallet-cleanser

Anyone familar with Hatton Slayden's amazing artworks? he draws elf and human males romancing furry and xeno women (truly xeno looking women).

The human people in some stories in Doctor Who, Gargoyles, Bojack Horseman, Marvel even X-Men, Star Wars, Star Trek, Regular Show etc. sometimes think of xenos, furries and mutants as "inferior" when some other races of beings want peace and co-exist with humans. No different than in real life when slavery times back when the white man considered themselves "superior" as they saw those with darker skin colors (Africans and middle easterns) as "inferior"even as not human based on the color of their skin or in 1930s/1940s Europe when Hitler and his nazis thought they were "superior" as they considered the Jews to be "inferior" race. Sometimes it's all about looks vs special skills and abilities, a person should be not be judged by their surface level but the content of their character and that's how Hatton Slayden the artist i mentioned was raised by his parents not to be a bigot to those who have different skin/ethnicity/different culture etc. but treat people who are different as equals with different skills/abilities and that's the idea in Hatton's artworks about people who are all different looking from each other and accepting each other for who they are.

i feel furries, other xenos like gargoyles, truly alien looking alien women and mutants are far better to elves. But i do like elves hooking up with furry chicks and gargoyle chicks. Hell i love my friends's Minerva X human male fanfiction stories! i don't consider it beastality which is the same mentality they said in colonial times about mixing ethnicity as it's xenophilia. Minerva is a furry humanoid woman and she can give consent plus she is an adult and so is her human lover in that story series as they love each other for who they are and are consenting adults and that she can conceive children with him even produce a hybrid child looking like those nekos in anime as it would be human with mink ears/tail.

Furries, Xenos and mutants are people who are and look different even in Hatton Slayden's artworks if you seen them all even truly alien looking alien women. Ever watch the show Doctor Who? in that show there is a race of alien lizard people as one of them is a female married to a human woman from earth and they love each other for who they are and not what worlds they are from. Even seeing art and fanfiction of Demona and Macbeth from Gargoyles a sexy female gargoyle with curves/breasts and all and a human lover even having children who are half-breeds, so there's nothing wrong with that. Voltron Legendary Defender on Netflix has 2 teenagers in love whom one is an earthling human boy and one a xeno as in truly xeno looking xeno girl who care for each other for who they are and not what they are, or anyone here remembers the 80s Beauty and the Beast TV show with Ron Perlman/Linda Hamilton. Nothing wrong with two consenting adults or two teens of different species/races of beings in love.

Nothing wrong with male human X furry/truly xeno looking female love in stories! some think it's judging surface value for some over one's special skills/abilities and the content of their character even those saying they don't look human are often "inferior" to human looking, it's all about looks vs special skills/abilities.

Textures? and why does surface value matter over special skills and personality? thin line? nope, only bigots and racists (Xenos and furries and mutants are races in stories outside human ethncity in real life) make that line blurred. basically boils down to cognitive abilities verses looks.

and yes i can blame them because of the blatant intent behind their arguments. bullying and domination of those who don't look human as "inferior". No different than a book that was published in the south of the USA in the 1850s by Buckner Payne that was a guide to way people of different skin color were not human even based on different nose shapes/larger penises which were bigger than a white man's even the book saying "the negro is just an ape and not a human being" that had a picture of a negro among with orangutans, gorillas and chimps even saying "they are one of the lower animals". Also no different than in 1930s/1940s Europe when Hitler considered himself "superior" including his Nazis that there were pamphlets handed out in that time by them as a guide to why Jews were not considered human but as "inferior vermin" or "rats" as the nazis even tried to humiliate the Jews by smearing Swastikas on their synagogues and damaging the tora (a scripture of Jewish laws). Even in 1992 in Rwanda Africa, one bad African politician said the Tutsi Tribe are "inferior cockroaches that should be exterminated" back when he wanted genocide on the Tutsi tribes.

Afterall i see interspecies romance as a metaphor to real life inter-ethnic romance or same gender romance because furries, xenos and mutants have religion, human level intelligence, similar DNA like humans, languages etc. and are equals to humans and not "inferior" because of their looks but by the content of their character in stories and people from other worlds overcoming their differences. Even though technically for the inter-ethnic metaphor there are humans of different skin colors/ethnicities having affairs with furries, xenos and mutants like for example in one of Hatton Slayden's artworks he drew pics of an African human black man having an affair with a lioness furry woman, a Japanese human man and a Tanooki furry woman, a Native American human man having an affair with a wolf woman (not a werewolf mind you but a furry wolf man similar to Lupe) and all that plus some elves with furry/xeno people like a fire sprite female having an affair with a male fox furry man. All proving in stories that no one is "inferior" or "superior" because they are different races of beings which can apply to real life on ethnicity/different culture/different tribes and those who say they are "superior" are often inferior.

The thing is, it’s easy to make cartoons look legit feminine. They did it with an M&M. It would not be the same photorealistic.

In cartoons across species romance can be seen as a moral parable, but in real life it would not be a moral issue, it’d be a biological one.

In terms of science fiction, "The Lovers" (1952) by Philip Jose Farmer is generally regarded to be the first SF story to seriously deal with the topic of sex between a human and an alien. It won the Hugo Award back in the day.

Pamela Ribon, the story writer of Moana, and writer of Smurfs: The Lost Village, and Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck it Ralph 2, has a new graphic novel, My Boyfriend is a Bear. I haven't read it, but based on the description, it's about a 20-something girl who falls in love with a bear and then struggles to win over her family and friends, and also has to deal with his need to hibernate.

Not sure what your point is, but rishathra isn't a general term for xenosexuality, but rather one specifically used to describe sexual relations between hominoid species on Ringworld.

Of course now’s the time to admit I drew a sci-fi webcomic with humanlike alien romances and then started to fantasize about some of them including a woman with snake tail instead of legs.

Realistically though I still think all the scents, tastes and textures of alien races would would be unappealing for humans, even if they met the bill visually, totally different chemistry.

It’d be just like the Futurama episode with Atlanta.

Strictly speaking, er writing, that is true. But I recall sci-fi fans in the 80s "adopting" Niven's term to describe xenosexuality in general, tongue firmly in cheek.

Mysterion's point was simply using it as one might have used the expression "free love" as a rallying cry.

No, it's still all about the looks (and perceived compatible personality) or else a lot of problems in real life today wouldn't exist. Audiences over the decades have seen more fiction address the concept superficially and brush it away as "kid crap".

Until they show up, aliens are theoretical, but technically probable. But so many qualifiers make such a visit impractical if not impossible and that's assuming the exist in the same area of time as we do but have the capability to get here to see what a muddled mess humanity is. I imagine a lot of fiction is written by chronically single people wishing humanity were more evolved so they anthropomorphize. And I'd probably be there with the rest of them.

As for MLK Jr, he was a lot more complex than the label or book cover most people attribute him. Was he not known for engaging in womanizing? Was there complete consent between the people involved and the people involved in those people's lives? Is it really as simple as you are grooming it to be and that, to be frank, is their business, and so many historical figures have cheated that people probably just didn't care back when TNG first aired either. But I reckon if you were cheated on, you might deem it all as "misunderstanding", "personal failing", "hatred of the other person for disrespecting you" (is 'disrespect' an act of love?), or any number of possible beliefs. Most of which being no less valid than any other. So is content of character universal or relative?

Shame free love keeps failing as a concept and not because of STDs... variants have been tried often... such as some listed here:

    https://thoughtcatalog.com/daniel-hayes/2015/05/free-love/

Forget bow ties, humans are cool.

Gee, portrayed in entertainment but somehow doesn't happen in real life. What a shock, can't imagine why...

So much for idealism... A wonderful thing, all you really need is someone rational to put it to proper use... And when it comes to sex, there's nothing more irrational. I think the song "Mind Games" sums it up but I'm not referring to the song as inscribed by John Lennon, there was an interesting one with him...

I'm pretty sure that their target lake was filled by nerds made fat by antidepressants like me... :D Oh, wait...

So if humans have enough issues with their same species when getting kinky, it'd be a miracle's miracle of a miracle should human/intelligent alien kinky stuff took place. I imagine lots of non-sci-fi people would flip channels and say "glorified bestiality" too.
