More good news: The CT scan came back normal and Acuña is day to day.

24-4...I think this is a Mets franchise record.

A few updates. Urena has been suspended for six games and fined an undisclosed amount. Acuna is in the lineup for tonight’s game (vs. Colorado). Meanwhile, Keith Hernandez, who defended Urena yesterday, has doubled down on his idiocy.

Not the Phillies best performance, to be sure. Why Klentak and Kapler thought letting Mark Leiter Jr. pitch was a good idea is something I’ll never understand.

Six games...is that six overall games or six starts for Urena? Not that big of a suspension if it's six overall because that would only cost Urena no more than two starts.

Hernandez is an "unwritten rules" meathead fool and an idiot. He really deserves to be fired.

Keith, if you watched that pitch, then Urena's actions afterwards, then think he didn't have malicious intent, you're a goddamn moron. There's throwing inside, then there is hurling a 98-mph fastball at a guy's elbow because you don't want to be the guy who gave up a record-breaking dinger. Fuck you.

It's six games because it forces him to miss a start, and this is entirely due to how salary gets paid out. MLB players are paid on a per-team-game basis. If you wanted Urena to miss, like, six starts, you'd have to give him something like a 30-game suspension, and the union would--rightfully--flip its shit at something like that, because you'd be saying that a 30-game pitcher suspension would be worth about 15 percent of their annual salary, but a relatively standard position player 5-game suspension would cost them about 3 percent of annual pay.

Rizzo gives Strop "the stare" after Strop hit a batter in the ninth.

That makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

The Cubs win their second straight 1-0 game vs Pittsburgh, with a solo home run being the total offense both games.

Hammels had an "off" game (7IP, 5H, 0R, 2BB, 3K), but the Pirates hit into 7 double plays (the record is 8). That has to be more frustrating than striking out a shitload of times.

Like Harry always said after the 7th inning stretch "let's get some runs!"...FFS get some runs! The Cubs have the 2nd best team batting average in the MLB and the 7th best Runs total, but they're gonna get slaughtered in the playoffs at this rate.

Lester, Hamels and the bullpen have been stellar, but I can't believe they're running Walkwood out there tomorrow. Then Quintana goes on Saturday. They really need to score lots of runs the next couple days.

The Phillies have pulled to within a half-game of first place in the NL East after taking the third of their five-game series against the Mets, as the Braves are having trouble with the Rockies. Neither team seems to be able to separate itself from the other. It’s going to be fun watching them face off seven times during the final two weeks of the season.

Us Red Sox fans just kinda coasting now and slowly realizing there has never been a better Sox team then this one. Even if they don’t end up winning.

Just gotta make sure Sale is healthy when it matters. Home field is pretty much locked, so Sale’s health is what matters.

With today’s win, the A’s have moved into a virtual tie for first place in the AL West. Wow!

Yeah, the Cubs took a chance on him based on his non-Coors numbers and his ~spin rate~ and it's backfired, badly. Time to Edwin Jackson him, eat the money and just do an outright DFA.

Couldn't agree more. The Ricketts' can certainly afford to eat that money and maybe the A's can sort him out. Jackson is doing well for them.

The Cubs score only 1 run on a solo homer for the third straight game. Unfortunately, Walkwood gave up 3.

Yu Darvish out of his first rehab start after 1 inning

ETA: More elbow pain. I'd consider Yu's season over.

According to Mark Gonzales, he's getting another MRI. He's had two already this season, both of which were said to have shown no structural damage in his arm. Either the Cubs are lying and he's seriously fucked-up, or he's broken mentally for some reason.

Edit: Although all of this horseshit makes me happier every day that the Cubs got Hamels, even if they did have to give up Butler in the process.

4th straight game the Cubs score one fucking run on a solo homer and the second straight loss. Flaccid bat syndrome.
