    Close, it's Lobot.

I hope Lando flies the Falcon at some point.

    You think he'll reference L3?

For me his death was fine it was the life leading up to it that I had a problem with. Han's is neither here nor there as I think it may have been part of the deal of signing him on. That could be wrong and Harrison could be upset he didn't get to stick around for at least two more movies but I doubt it.

IIRC Harrison has said that this time around he didn’t request to be killed off.

Meh. I have a hard time getting excited about the reappearance of a minor character.

So your not excited about the prospect of seeing General Wicket, part of the Ewok division of the Restiance movement?

As long as he's not swilling booze, there won't be much that might be upsetting. How many people can an octogenarian flirt with? If they show him banging on a computer console since we need serious sci-fi to make what "Futurama" needs to lampoon well over a decade ago, then viewers who watch the movies in its chronological order (1-3, Solo, RO, 4-6, blah blah blah) will see a fairly generic self-important hornball who puts machines over people most of the time but makes a pass at Leia, who isn't fond of being hit on. So that's what Lando would be reduced to.

In seriousness, he might be there to pay respects to the late General Leia in some way. Lando too is a General.

Or he's turned to Ren. Or works with DJ. For some reason, probably little that might be said onscreen to make it feel legitimate.

Or it's just fanservice since the franchise doesn't know whether to do something original with the long-standing characters or pander to long-standing fans by dragging them back in and scribbling out their characters in a half-baked way. (I like what they did with Han and Luke because the potential wasn't a sappy cliché, but the latter needed a little more fleshing out.)

The writers could do a lot. How much they do... won't know until the end of 2019.

Just seeing that photo sends out some good vibes. Whether IX discusses Han's death... my interest is piqued. But whatever ideas they do have, I hope the writing of it is given the complete range it deserves. TFA and TLJ both missed out on some opportunities regarding Han and Luke.

I would be very happy to see Lando again, although I think that Rian Johnson (may his name ever be cursed) missed a golden opportunity by not having him appear on Canto Bight and help Our Heroes escape.

I wonder if he'll be back on Bespin.. I mean, he was the administrator there and only left to help with the rebellion. I would imagine that after the fall of the Empire he went back to his cushy job.

That is what he's done in the new Disney Canon novels.

All jokes aside, I would be shocked if Lando doesn't get a heroic role, some fist-raising moments, and survive. Abrams is hardly one not to pander to a fandom, and I think if Lando were to meet a fate as miserable as the Big Three's, audiences would riot in their seats.

He really let himself go after he crawled out of the Sarlacc.

I hear ya on that theoretical compromise, but I'd still be astounded if Abrams didn't cave to apparent fan pressure and let Lando live.

The fact that both EP7 and EP8 killed a main character is probably just a coincidence

Glad to finally see Lando come back, I was really disappoint we didn't even get any hints what he's been up to in TFA or TLJ.
