If there was a post-Nemesis series, which previously seen youthful character like Nog or Wesley would you like to see now in the captain's chair, and what kind of captain would they make?

Naomi Wildman. Be in her late twenties or so by now.

Would like to see what happens to Jake Sisko. The Visitor shows a potential future, and whatever happens I think he does become a writer. I doubt he would have become a Starfleet officer. His heart wasn't in it, and he only went that route to save his father. But he may have taken a more journalistic career, later. I wouldn't want to see anyone we know in the captain's chair, honestly.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a Captain Wesley Crusher. I think he would be unique, having spent some time exploring higher planes of existence before returning home. I'd imagine he'd be a slightly irreverent and not easily fazed captain--having seen "the big picture"--and someone who's come a long way from the teenage wunderkind that once lived on the Enterprise-D.

Captain Nog, would be interesting, just to see him combine the Rules of Acquisition with the Prime Directive.:)

I'd like to see Captain Nog balancing his strong adherence to Starfleet protocols, Ferengi outsiderness and his battle experiences.

Although I'd also like to see some redemption for Harry Kim; upon his return to the Alpha Quadrant he finally makes lieutenant, a new posting and a field promotion to commander. Then, pulling a 'Captain Pike', Harry gets scarred up saving a group of cadets and is rewarded with a couple of medals and his own command all set for...

Nog would be the only one I could think of that I'd be willing to watch, though I'd prefer an all original cast.

Ichab and Naomi (Voyager) we get a glimpse of in Shattered. I think it would be cool to see Naomi follow in her dreams to be a Captain like Janeway, with the kindness of Neelix thrown in and the discipline of Seven.

Have Wesley be some sort of jaded, highly sarcastic figure, with an unexplained scar on his face, always talking about how humanity sucks and the world is a lie. The admiralty sends him and his crew on suicide missions that he inevitably, and begrudgingly solves himself by working around his inept, inexperienced criminal crew.

Starfleet wants no part of him, but he gets results.

I was going to answer this question, but instead I decided to use a can of waxed beans to crush my skull.

Ashley Judd's character from "The Game"... but no more "Lefler's Laws" please.

She had great character development in Peter David's New Frontier novel series.

What about the kids who survived the TNG episode 'Lower Decks?' Although in all honesty, nobody who was on those shows 20+ years ago would probably be a good choice now unless they were recast. Dan Gauthier (ENS Lavelle) is 54 now. On further consideration, if we are talking about recasting the roles of guest stars from 30 years ago that only the most hard core fans would remember, the answer is just to go with an all-original cast, and then if you want, have one of the senior characters casually mention their service aboard the Enterprise-D or DS9 or whatever.

I want to see Captain Nog. Also I wouldn't mind seeing Alexander grown up which we have seen before but I understand they would need to recast which would be okay IMO. Also I would like to see a child of Riker and Troi. Heck you could even see a child of Wesley become a character on the show. Maybe as a young cadet or something. Maybe he married a weird alien while exploring the different realities or whatever it is he did when he left Starfleet.

Nog is an engineer, it's unlikely he'd end up in the centre seat.

Despite what was shown to us in The Visitor. Also, Sisko was an engineer and La Forge gains captaincy in one alternate timeline.
