Star Trek Adversaries gave TrekYards their DSC Enterprise model.

There is no Window on the bridge? Looking back at the eaglemoss renders there doesn't appear to be a bridge window either. nothing is cut into the hull. Unless that slit in the font is meant to be a window.

Looks like there are Torpedo Tubes in front of the sensor dome.

Definitely possible. It sure looked like there was a window there in the season finale, when it flew towards the camera.

Nah I don't think it is. The size and position is all wrong.

The window in the finale looks like it is meant to be here

Definitely had a window. Probably the low-poly model given for the game lacks that detail.

Or maybe now they've built the sets they've modified it for season 2 and decided to go with a screen instead of a window?

The Eaglemoss render doesn't have the window either, and as far as we know they're given the screen used assets.

So either they didn't give them models with the view screen, or they're removing it for Season 2.

Also Adversaries has the Discovery's window, so I don't think it's because of it being lowpoly

They also modelled the Shenzhou's turrets, which seems unnecessary if they were going for low poly.

Compare the saucer rim windows, they're different between the videogame model and the one seen at the end of S1. Either the model isn't very screen-accurate or they've made changes.

with the Eaglemoss render also lacking the Bridge Window, I'm going with changes and game inaccuracy.

Thanks man! I've done some physical models of Constellation too... I need to make myself one to keep someday. :)

So STD uses the phase II enterprise. Got it. Now, I'll go watch something else. Thanks for the vid.

STD sucks... And Kelvin still sucks.
The OG is the best, as usual.

Yes it does. You just don't see them from that angle.

I really like the Enterprise-E design. John Eaves’ work is usually appealing to me.

Both are generally decent enough in shape. The details are awful on both.

    Among the sellers.
There are some folks, like writers, whose guild contracts entitle them to compensation if their characters are reused in television or films. That said, ownership of the work stays with the folks who hired them.

This has never extended to other media, to the best of my knowledge. In other words, if Tam Elbrun had appeared on Voyager I'd have been due a payment, but not if he became a character in a comic or Pocket Books Trek novel.

I think that generally artists have even less leverage.

I never had a problem with the 1701E - I’ve always liked that design, details and all. Always seemed to be a nice blend between the 1701D and the Voyager designs. What don’t you like about it - just out of curiosity?

As for the original - I guess I’m a purist who thinks the Jeffries design is still as futuristic as it was when she was first designed - but I’m not going to flog that dead selaht here because I know I’m generally fighting a losing battle (in the wider context).

I will say that the new details on the DSC Enterprise fits with the general aesthetic of the rest of the DSC continuity. The TOS design would have looked hella out of place compared to the disco herself - but that issue lies with the aesthetics of DSC itself, which we’re stuck with so I’m just going with it. In that sense I’m glad the Enterprise “fits” with this new continuity.

On a random tangent - I know the triangle landing gear struts were discussed above (or at least the potential for such things based on the scant evidence we have for them), but I wonder whether we’ll see the Enterprise separate her saucer in s2? I get the sense that the secondary hull could be run from auxiliary control (assuming that was in the secondary hull in TOS - but even if it wasn’t DSC can retcon it), so they could do a saucer sep on the Enterprise - maybe that could lead to some of her design changes in TOS? Secondary hull is destroyed and only the saucer remains...

P.s. apologies if I’m retreading existing ground with that final point :o

P.p.s. Some of the posts above suggest that the new enterprise may indeed feature a blast shield on the bridge window. Where’s my cheque?

Let's hope. Enough with the windows.

You just wait until there are threads asking if season 2 of Disco is the same universe as season one because the Enterprise's bridge window has vanished.
