What is Paul thinking? He should know better than to get involved in this. But, I guess not.

I can't believe anybody as high(ish) profile as Paul Jenkins would willingly get involved with Peters and his minions. Is he the one writing it too? I know they got a fairly well know comic writer I recognized as their new writer, but I can't remember who it is.

You didn't read the article, did you? It says Jenkins "He’ll be listed as co-writer in the film credits."

    A few thoughts:
Things seem to be as they ever were in Axa-Land, with Alec clinging to his few key supporters, making no progress of any sort on Axanar Lite, looking to monetize FreeRent Storage Facility and Play Area by offering tours of what remains of the 1.7 million+ of donations intended to create Axanar:Unmade, and in general cashing in on the reputation Prelude to Axanar has in the fan community.

The Alecolytes are also eagerly trolling anyone and everyone who criticizes or questions Alec, saving their particular ire for whatever target Alec is enamored with at the moment.

Jonathan Lane continues to crank out Alec-favorable content, using Flim Flam Factor and its associated FB group to promote a skewed perspective on all the drama, both real and manufactured.

The new development seems to be that Alec has discovered the joys of small sci-fi/fantasy cons, of which there are many to choose from. He seems to be slowly building a network of convention runners who agree with his perspective on the Axanar "controversy", are sensitive to criticism, easily manipulated into feeling persecuted, and aren't picky about who appears at their conventions because frankly if they can get anyone to show up, it's a "win."

These convention runners appear to be informed in advance that they will contacted by a group of 'rabid haters' who they can safely ignore. Thus Alec can present any inquiries - no matter how reasonable - as proof positive of the "unhinged" nature of his "detractors" and eagerly release his Alecolytes to troll anyone who dares question convention arrangements or choice of guests.

In recent weeks it appears that Alec has had some success, distracting some of his critics from his more amusing failures such as a complete rejection of a test balloon post from occasionally useful surrogate Reece Watkins wherein Reece asked Axanar fans in the Axanar FB fan group if they would be willing to pay a premium for exclusive access to Axanar content (The offending post and it's embarrassing results were deleted) , Alec's optimistic projection of only 100 tickets being sold to the private tour of OWC Studios (if Alec can only imagine 100 being sold things are not going well), Alec's admittance that he is concealing Axanar: Lite production news from donors, that he is more focused on monetizing OWC studios than he is working on Axanar Lite, and that he is so inexperienced that the couldn't possibly film J.G. Hertzler until J.G. cuts his hair because the character J. G. is playing has short hair.

Although @carlosp has diligently reported on these events, the trolling of the Alecolytes has successfully muddied the waters, and the actions of a handful of critics (tweeting David Weber, really?) has not contributed much to the overall goal of maintaining focus on Alec's actions.

I would hope that critics motivated enough to hold Alec accountable would also be determined to do so in an efficacious manner. I don't see the value in repeatedly asking questions of a small sci-fi or fantasy convention willing to interact with Alec, beyond a journalistic inquiry from Carlos or perhaps @TREKZONE.org with the INTENT of gaining more FACTUAL information on Alec's connection to the convention/event. Anything beyond that, especially if there is a negative response from the convention organizers, would be counter productive, in my humble opinion.

I also think it is counter productive to allow Alec's trolling to distract from the public posts on the subject, something Carlos seems to agree with as he posts articles on Axamonitor that are laser focused on Alec's Axanar related actions, not the various slap fights Alec tries to generate to create controversy and distract his critics.

So, remaining focused on Alec's failures, lies, mistakes, and the slow erosion of any status he has remaining is a worthy endeavor, and might just serve as a protection for any fan who goes to a small convention and sees the duct taped Star Trek: Axanar tablecloth, the small yellow sign up notepad, and Mr. Blue Shirt himself smiling and schmoozing, looking for another sucker to give him 10 bucks for an old patch.

*quick wave to Carlos and @wtriker1701 if they happen to wander by. Hope you all are doing well.

    ^^^Nice post. Thank you.

A favor: Could you double-space between paragraphs? That really does become a wall of text.

One thing I wonder about every now and then is just how LFIM continues to sustain himself throughout this whole CF. If most of the original funds ($1.3 or 1.5M, I forget) are gone, then either he's gotta be shacked up w/someone somewhere, he's got something on the side no one knows about, or he's pulling an entirely separate con just to sustain himself.

(originally, I thought that once his money ran out, this whole mess would slowly evaporate............)

Hard to say, he discusses selling various collector's item he has in his stash, and has sold items at various auctions in times past.
He owns his own home, purchased in part from the proceeds of another home he purchased in Florida (chronologically close to his last bankruptcy) although he claims to also have a mortgage.
Due to the various connected corporations with unclear ownership, it is possible he has business interests capable of delivering some income, but I think it is more likely that he uses stashed funds and sales of various items he has collected or (allegedly) absconded with in times past to maintain his lifestyle. He certainly would shrivel up and blow away if he ever had to actually WORK for a living.

Feel free to share, if you want.

@Tom in his latest interview with Flim Flam Factor (which in no way was rehearsed or practiced in advance) he mentions that NO ONE is working on this full time.

Of course, I think you may be referring to his justification for taking $38k for his "salary" back in the good ol' days.
That was a crock of crap... but amusing to read.

I don't know that it's his job, but it does seem like his full-time occupation.

Well, I am also an Honor Harrington fan. The fan club just had their annual meeting and announced the location of next year’s con. Yep, at the Axanar studios. I just wanted to shake my head.

Yes, I was jokingly referring to his 38k 'Full Time' job. Now there is no money coming in, so he can't claim its his full time job anymore.

I'd be more of a fan if the series hadn't gone off the deep end after Ashes of Victory. I just felt the novels started getting bloated, trying to cram too much story in but without the necessary amount of editing it takes to write a good book.
