I think the show is hugely overrated and I haven't season it since the DVDs came out for season 3 years ago, but hearing that season 4 recut was better makes me have hope. Now I'll have to rewatch the whole thing sometime.
The last 2 episodes are really funny. I agree that it starts off slow but it picks up by episode 3. It’s funny that they included some of Ron’s actual family at the picnic. I was thinking that’s quite random to have Bryce there and not do anything but she does have a scene later on.
I watched all 8 season 5 episodes today after binging 1-4 over the past month. I mean, I guess it's slightly better than season 4? But neither 4 nor 5 hold a candle to 1-3. They just can't seem to recapture the magic of the originals. Was nice to see some of the locations missing from season 4 again, like the Bluth Company, the prison, and George Michael's bedroom. The Lindsay scenes are really awkward since it's super obvious she was filmed separately from everyone else.
Yeah I defintely felt the nostalgia more with season 5 so far with all of the old locations popping up. I enjoyed it more than season 4, but I guess that's not saying much. I did rewatch the recut of S4, and it's, well, interesting.
I finished the season 4 remix and started season 5. WTF is up with Lyndsey? Is she green screening from her and Ellen’s private island or something?
Technically Portia De Rossi retired from acting, but she came in and did a few episodes of season 5 as a favor.
Season 5 feels off, it's better than 4 though. Maeby's storyline was pretty good. I don't know if it's intentional, but it's interesting that Maeby seems to take on characters as much as her father, but she's a lot better at it and frequently fools her family with it.
