Hey, I finally upgraded my 7 year old 7850 yesterday - to a 1070 TI. With the steam summer sale starting Thur and the patch that lets it be played normally, without VR, I was thinking of getting Bridge Crew , but I don't have any friends who play it. Is it worth it if you play it by yourself?

Yep it's worth it. Especially with Watson voice control (which I think is only going to be available for another year). I played some non-VR single player when I was too tired to put the headset on. As long as you're not expecting too deep gameplay it's a good time

My main obstacle for getting it is still Uplay. I just don't want such software on my computer as I am kind of worried how much information it would give Ubisoft.

^^Uplay is not getting any more info than you are already giving away from the minute you use a mobile phone, surf the web, post on forums, use a social media site, buy from amazon, use Steam, EA, Battlenet or any other online store, such are the joys of the internet, some info is always collection, what games are being played, how many hours, what hardware, nothing steam and the rest have not doing for years, so i would not get to hung up about it to the point of missing out on a good Trek game. ;)

I do occasionally hear that Uplay is not very stable and can crap out on you even if Steam is running fine.

If I purchase this game it will be when it is sold at discount. And I am still not happy that it does not have a TNG campaign as I absolutely don't care for the Kelvinverse.

It is not really a campaign. There is the Borg mission but from what I heard from Daedalus5 the random mission general consist of only four or five missions you do over and over.

I picked it up - tried it for a bit but also got Shadow of War so been focusing on it.

The couple hours I did play were underwhelming. I thought there would be some kind of campaign but it doesn't seem to have one. The graphics are surprisingly low rent, but I guess that's for the VR. The combat was also dull. I guess, while playable single player, it's really all about the group experience.

I tried the TOS ENT but couldn't figure out the controls and didn't see a tutorial.
