There certainly is alot of amnesty over these sorts of things. I agree, auto correct defiantly plays apart in it.

People who wait until the last minute to get in the lane they need to be in to turn thus messing up the flow of traffic and causing others to slam on their brakes

When you're running in the park, people who think you don't need to continue running and don't bother moving aside to let you get through... Also, people who can't control their stupid dog and keep it from putting his paws on you.

    At work:

Male employee: Hey, I have an idea I'd like to share. Here's my idea, how it works, and why I think we should implement it.

Management: Wow! Thanks. We should talk about that. (to each other) What a go-getter!

Female employee: Hey, I also have an idea. Here's my idea, how it works, and why I think we should implement it.

Management: Whoa, no need to be so aggressive. (to each other) What a bitch.

If only people read road signs alerting them which lane they need to be in, there is little excuse on Motorway's as they are generally alerted a mile or so beforehand of which lane they need be in.

YES! But there are two players in that game. The take-advantagers and the line sharks. The first is obvious. The second are those people who don't let you in at all at the point of merge. Which starts near the first notification of a closure. A sort of "You're not getting ahead of me!" This isn't the food counter. No one is trying to swoop in and rob you. They're trying to close in the lane.
There has to be a merge sometime. Road etiquette rhythm- One goes fwd. One goes in, one goes fwd, one in. And we can get on with our life.

I prefer running in semi-industrial areas, especially if there are train tracks nearby. Not as many people in the way, and it feels like you're in "Rocky."

Fucking pieces of shit assholes who bring speaker cabinets to the beach to blare out music. Yes, literal speaker cabinets you'd have on stage in a small bar or close-nit outside stage. They make ones now that you can plug in and charge overnight.

All this technology of powerful batters and compact sound systems has done is encourage assholes to be even greater assholes.

There's only so much space in the shade and lot of people are using the beach, so it's not like you can just move and even then, I kid you not, you're surrounded by people playing loud fucking shitty music. I was surrounded by three fucking assholes one day. You can barely even hear the waves of the ocean when you're only mere feet from it!

This is why we can't have nice things.

Oh dear GOD. That is the bane of my existence. Anyone can make an occasional mistake but so many people simply don't know and don't even care; it baffles me. Words are such powerful, glorious tools that it pains me to see them used so carelessly and inaccurately. Reading or listening to these people is like watching some dumb teenager drive an Aston-Martin into a tree.

One co-worker, who I am on the same team as who sits right next to me.

First, he has really bad allergies, that have caused him to make loud very vocal throat clearing noises all day every day since about December.

Second, in meetings he's bullheaded. He constantly cuts people off mid sentence and talks over them, and tries to take over and meeting regardless of whether he's the one running the meeting or most knowledgable on the topic. When the group disagrees with his ideas, he gets this very exasperated 'You're all being stupid' body language, and even if you can clearly explain and lay out exactly why we need to do it this other way, he argues and argues and argues without even addressing your idea. If he does concede, he doesn't really, he just says "Okay let's table it for now and come back to it later".

If I could telepathically make some other employer make him some better offer so he would leave the job and I'd never have to work with him again, that would be super.

It depends on the situation, in slow traffic merge in turn is recommended but only if safe at High speeds such on Motorways when it goes from 4 to 3 lanes or 3 to 2 lanes it is not recommended.

Rule 134 of the Highway code (UK)

You should follow the signs and road markings and get into the lane as directed. In congested road conditions do not change lanes unnecessarily. Merging in turn is recommended but only if safe and appropriate when vehicles are travelling at a very low speed, e.g. when approaching road works or a road traffic incident. It is not recommended at high speed.

So it's telling you if road signs are indicating the number of carriageway is being reduced you should start to move into at the first safe opportunity and not leave it to the last second. And if you are in the lane that is ending Rule 133 would apply

If you need to change lane, first use your mirrors and if necessary take a quick sideways glance to make sure you will not force another road user to change course or speed. When it is safe to do so, signal to indicate your intentions to other road users and when clear, move over.

Sounds like the US as well. I was specifically thinking construction where they give you 5 miles notice and they still manage to jam it up.

Autocorrect is responsible for some real howlers. Recently I read a forum post where the poster meant to write "obstacles." Because he spelled it wrong, autocorrect changed it to "obstetricals"!

The question then becomes why do people leave it to the last few yards to move over say instead of moving over when there are still hundreds of yards away.

I really don't care if somebody is playing loud music in their car. But I find it absolutely irritating if their BASS is turned up so much that it causes the ground and all surrounding vehicles to violently shake. :wtf:
