Reread what I said you could have done and only what I said. I didn't say anything about the content of the post, just the identifiable parts of the post.

But it looks as if @Defcon was right and I was wrong to give you the benefit of the doubt on this.

Unless this person is connected to S&S or CBS he is unlikely to know any more than we do.

The sad truth is, this little drama is the most exciting thing to happen, novel related all year. And yes, that's even after it's confirmed to be fake news.

Yep. This is the most interesting thing to happen in this thread for like six months. We are a desperate bunch.

Reminds me of the old Twilight Zone episode “The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street”. People are fearful and hungry for blood, even blue blood.

What slamming? I don't think asking for clarification is too much to ask for.

That, and him and me having differences regarding his sometimes misleading posting style (presenting his speculations as facts) is hardly a "sudden" development.

Heck, I think I was partly responsible for him throwing a hissy-fit and add the "Entire post is personal opinion" to his signature way back then.

To be fair, it really isn't that great an idea to post something like "I heard through the grapevine we're getting an announcement about the novels soon" and leave it at that. Anyone can tell you that sort of thing is going to be like a drop of blood in a shark tank.

I thought I was responsible for that. Not that I ever wanted to be. :)

I think it was kind of a "group effort"* to be honest.

*not the best word since it wasn't the intended outcome, but at the time several people were annoyed by his posting style and called him out for it both on psiphi.org and here.

This little drama-fest is done, and I don't care how bored you all are on a Sunday, you're really messing with my zen thing.

I realise the idiocy of this request since there isn't anything to talk about on the subject of the thread, but can we get back to the subject of the thread please?

    Thank you kindly :D

I'm still holding out hope that we'll at least here something by the Vegas Trek con.

Is that before or after Shore Leave? I know the big announcements don't happen anymore there, but that would be an ideal place to announce any news, either from Pocket or another publisher, same with The Vegas Con.

Given the proximity of them both and IF there is an announcement at either and IF a deal has been made, I suspect it could go: details of a deal are revealed at Shore Leave and then a full release schedule is revealed at Vegas.

So by my understanding we are getting the following from the existing book deal

    Date Released Title

29-May-2018 The Root of all Rage
    05-June-2018 Fear Itself
27-November-2018 In the Heart of Chaos
    ????? To Lose Earth

and in the list above the Prometheus novels are under a separate license.

In addition the comics will be coming out at regular intervals as they are on a different license agreement.

Am I correct in saying no one involved in, or has knowledge of, the new licensing agreement has publicly has mentioned anything about the new book deal since July 2017 when it was mentioned the events Star Trek 2009 can now be covered in the novel-verse.

There's also the Spock autobiography in October.
The Prometheus novels aren't even from Pocket Books, and neither is the Spock book. They are from Titan, so in other words they have nothing to do with the license at all.
Yes, which has already been repeated over and over again for the past 62 pages of this thread.

Which is clearly what AJ Hawker meant by "under a separate license." They're under Titan's license with CBS rather than Pocket's. There's no such thing as "the license." There's Pocket's license (currently in renegotiation), Titan's license, IDW's license, Modiphius's license, Hallmark's license, etc.
