They should make a series out of Tank Girl. I like that concept, especially if she had some high tech help.
Gotham, Legends of Tomorrow and Timeless tonight. After reading the novels, I may give The Librarians a go too.
Just finished with the entire run of Hell on Wheels (friggin' excellent). Still in a Western kind of mood, I bounced over to Netflix's Godless (also pretty friggin' excellent). Looking for a new series to binge. In the meantime, Supernatural is on tomorrow night and AoS is on Friday. Q2
Hell on Wheels was great. I was impressed, especially since they didn't have all the freedoms of a HBO / Showtime show in terms of language, etc. Great writing and acting all around.
I'm watching The Cosby Show reboot. Just took an interesting turn and it looks like it might be crossing over with 'Oz' very soon!
Just saw the first episode of The Deuce. Very impressed. It's David Simon so has the depth and complexity of The Wire, but a more interesting (to me) premise and characters. Also trying to get into the new Lost in Space, but I dunno...so far I like Penny, Don West and the robot. Not sure this Dr. Smith is menacing enough, and most of the Robinsons are boring or annoying me. I guess I'll keep trying.
Too many good movies on TV tonight: THE CREEPING UNKNOWN, FIVE MILLION MILES TO EARTH, and MISTER SARDONICUS.
Nat Geo's Genius: Picasso This series explores the provenance of one of the world's great Artists. There is a popular myth that Genius Is Born Of Suffering and I'm interested to see just how it might apply to Picasso, as this programme unfolds. For example: this Spanish Artist had a complicated relationship with women. They dominate his work ... like Femme Aux Bras Croises, from his "Blue Period," which I'm fond of. Picasso was a dynamic individual and I can't help but find myself transfixed by this telling of how his communist convictions, combined with his Cubist Art, evoked mixed responses on both sides of the Iron Curtain. ... This series is a must see!
Apparently next season they're doing Mary Shelley. Meanwhile, tonight I'm going for KILLING EVE (my favorite new series!) and TIMELESS.
