Starting off, I wanted to have a big discussion and sharing thread for all our Doctor Who memorabilia, and Action Figures, or models, and what ever else is cool that you would like to share. I think with the current 3.75' Scale that Character Options is moving towards, which includes all those nice cardboard inserts and scenery that this would make a nice place to share places to buy them at, and display them in depth for the rest of us Whovians to drool over, or at the very least have in-hand images by fellow board members sharing how the item works, is sculpted, and quality control issues if any. This is the perfect place to get started in collecting Doctor Who Action Figures and merchandise.

I just started picking up some action figures from Character Options. Until now I was content on just having a sonic replica with lights and sounds of the 11th Doctor, and a flight control TARDIS from the Tenant release of 5' action figures. I also bought a Big Chief Studios of the 10th Doctor in my favorite series 2 Blue Suit and Red shoes colours. I bought an out of package Bif Bang Pow 4th Doctor on Card. The Card was prestine and for the most part the bubble package still attached. I added a spot of tape to hold it to the card better, and it works. I pretty much have the card and bubble pack in mint shape, even if opened. I also purchased the Bif Bang Pow TARDIS set with K-9 to give my Doctor A Proper Home.

For my First Character Options purchase I got the Doctor and a genesis Dalek 2 pack. This one for me is the most significant buy I have gotten. you see, the first ever in canon Dalek born to Davros was the one who came in for a demo with the scientists. His gun was inserted for the demonstration of it's fire power, and that same Dalek is in this Twin Pack! I always wondered.. What became of the 1st Dalek? It would be akin to the first Man on Earth.. So to the Daleks, I wonder if the 1st Dalek was also the first supreme or did he end up the first Emperor ala Evil of the Daleks? would be an interesting story to follow what happened to him. Anyhow, that set is one of my favorites, tho I have yet to break him out of the box.

    On order:

I have the Character Options 5.5' 13 Doctor s set with Peter Capaldi coming.
This set features a Repainted Colin Baker in Big Finish Blue colours, a Repainted War Doctor, and a slightly bloodied 8th Doctor. It also has the best Logopolis Rendition of the 4th Doctor to date. all figures are 5.5' and come with their respective sonics and canes. The third Doctor is also featured in his velvet redish orangish jacket, which is Fantastic!

I also ordered and have coming the Priory set of the Pyramids of Mars.

I hope you have enjoyed my simple collection as it stands, I plan to share more and try to give good reviews here in the future on these sets, figures, and some of the best places to buy. off hand, I would like to recommend wibbley wobbley timey whimey store site.

Go here for some of the best deals on whovian Merchandise! I plan on getting the TARDIS comic mug soon! https://www.wibblywobblytimeywimey.com/

Please share your collection and also the youtube reviewers you like to watch on Doctor Who Merchandise reviews. My personal fav so far has been Batmanmarch. I love his assessments of the Action Figures and sets from Character Options, his channel is a great place to go first to see if you want to spend the money on Doctor Who action figures.

    His channel is here:
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJq5_LUPQxXWw6g5N5fXGGg

What I would love to see come out Next from Character Options is a 5.5' Scale TV 21 Emperor Dalek! That would be a favorite of mine, and also if they would release an Evil of the Daleks Emperor set, based on the actual serial set itself with a cardboard back drop.

Those are nice toys....I think I only ever bought two figures from character options...one tenth doctor as a gift for the Mrs, and one of the anthropomorphised Tardis.
I was gifted some Daleks and a cyberman, but time took its toll.

I do have older bits from my childhood...an Ace, two seventh doctors...a fourth doctor...my console got lost in time, but two Tardii survive. I suppose for esoteric collectibles I will go with my Tardis VHS shelf from 1993 and my copy of the Ghost Light script book, signed by JNT, Sylvester, and...mostly unrelated to that story...David Roden (who wrote Dimensions in Time, was matey with JNT, and is possibly a very unpleasant autograph to have given accusations floating about, and...gah..can’t remember his name, one of the production staff. I wish I had got Dee the make up ladies autograph, but I was a bit starstruck the first day. I do have a Colin Baker signed copy of the Mindwarp novelisation, of all things.)

And one unique piece of merchandise that I ‘own’ is that I have one of the people photographed who built the Dalek for the tenth anniversary radio times special. Because he’s my Dad. I think the other people who can claim that aren’t who fans or collectors, since I know a few of the others XD.
I did reach out when Radio Times did the reprint...in case they fancied a ‘where are they now’ feature, but no response. Ah well.

How’s that for esoteric mega who merchandise?

Fantastic! You've got a great little collection there. Not to mention the familial connection. Any chance your father had gotten some dalek building schematics? That would be amazing if he did. I think it's absolutely cool that you've got that collection and historical connection. Any chance we can see some pics? I'm interested in that shelf you've got.

They had to make their own schematics, which appear in modified form as the instructions in the special. That’s why those plans are inaccurate over the years...a group of school kids had to basically reverse engineer the Dalek in 1973.

I never get round to uploading pics, but, if you google Tardis VHS cabinet, and possibly Panopticon 1993, you will probably turn up less battered ones than mine. There were ads in DWM all the time back then too, and the photo they use is accurate.
I need to figure out a way to restore it following an ancient sister based hair dye injury and dings from its time in storage. Which means colour matching paint the to the Tardis in the late eighties, and working out how to make it not look patchy.

Actually I got some news! Eaglemoss is taking surveys for new sets and lines of Doctor who! Consoles!! Spaceships of the series, and a TARDIS only line!! Check out their website and take the survey to let them know you want them! I did already, I got super excited! I want all the consoles! Particularly the Hartnell, Pertwee refit, the 5 Doctors, and the Rani's Console, along with a Time Monster Master's console.
You can check out the new line and give them the encouragement to make them here:
    http://merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/eaglemoss-looking-to-expand-doctor-who-range/

I voted for the vehicles, TARDIS, and Consoles.. I have enough cookie jars.

Of course, I would love some classic consoles from Character Options..like this custom.. but with real working lights and sounds and time rotor.. one can only dream.

what I would love character options to do is finally release their prototype 2nd Doctor with his Fur coat! I mean, come on! I know, how about releasing his figure with a set, like a 5 Doctors set in a special box like the TARDIS from the 13 Doctor's set or the 11 Doctors set.

I'd also love a Brigadier in over coat as a variant.. and imagine how cool a Black cloaked Borusa would be or a Rassilon on death bed with time lord stone prisoners!

I agree, if you're gonna do a custom 5.5 inch scale Console, go in all or nothing.

:techman:Okay everybody, Here is my update on the 13 Doctors Action Figure set in the 5.5" scale format!
I must say, the Box on this set is massive!

The Figures are all in Their own carafe and held in place by translucent rubberbands attached to the plastic insert. I left mine in tact. No need to open it yet. I have more items to collect. My set is number 172 of 3,000! Fantastic!

The Variants on this set are nice to see. I still wish Character Options would do a similar set but add some minor repaints in and some other characters for a 5 Doctors set. That would be amazing!!
But what I would love more, are a series of 5.5" scale TARDIS consoles.. Just that and make the outer section of the box do a console room scene for a backdrop, like Big Chief does with their Doctor Sets. If it's the 1st Doc, place some items in the box in addition to the console, like the chair, or lamp posts, or the clock.. in a 4th Doctor's console, a K-9 Figure Mark I, and so on.. Little stuff to add to the scene.

For those who want to know the ultimate Whovian Merchandise place is the Who store..
Here are some shots my Fam Took while visiting the shop. :)

    Random shopper caught there... LOL:hugegrin:
    Me ole' Mum and Dad..:luvlove:

    Also, I collect Masterpiece Transformers..
That Mini TARDIS also lights up.. Not bad.. Still love it tho. I wish they would continue in that scale with different TARDIS versions.. the Master's various ones, and the Default ones, and SIDRATS and so on.. That would be neat to collect.

Hope you liked my update. More to come when I get more in. I'm gonna steer clear of the 3.75" sets for now.. Not my cup-o-tea so to speak.. anyhow, cheers!:techman:

Is that the one in East Ham? Sort of amazed it’s still going. I went there all of twice. I think I got my spectrum copy of Dalek Attack in there. No idea where that went, or the Dos version I got later. Last time I was in there was...hmm. Early 2k maybe.

That looks amusing. I hope they don’t over depend on computer filters in the artwork. That’s always obvious. I also hope they have at least one world annuals style incorrect Tardis (I.e how I learnt to draw them wrong.) maybe a few drawn pics of pertwee from his other films and publicity shots, same for manning, though for true authenticity they need at least one seventies blond bombshell who bares zero resemblance to Jo in there as well. Oh. And a space quiz, probably including Pluto as a planet.

Yep that's the one! I got my 12th Doctor hoodie from there last year. I spoke to the owner on the phone long distance while my Mum and Dad were there, It was awesome. The owner was directed to my online work for the TARDIS Master Schematics and General Plans index, the Time Lord Compendium, and the Time Lord Handbook. All of which the owner said he would carry as a fan publication once I get these done and printed. Long process, but I think that would make my millennium if they were sold there, I would just pass out from the excitement. LOL

I'm thinking of doing a short story comic for it with William B. Swift as my writer.. he is my collaborator on all things Whovian, and the writer of the www.whoniverse.net website.

Comics are actually quite rare in the annuals, they were usually full of prose stories. Your go to reference should be the 1986 Doctor Who special...it was basically an extra big annual with Colin Baker on the front that reprinted loads of World annual stories from every Doctor. Like that awesome one with the transparent walls n the Tardis while it’s being eaten by a giant space slug thing.
I had no idea there was still much of an independent publications scene around Who.
