The proportions on that table look quite a bit off.

@Lt. Washburn: Yes, when compared to the Enterprise table, it's a lot smaller on purpose, due to the weapons locker taking a lot of the space.

I've added elements all over the place: the replicator, the CMO's desk, a status display on top of the waiting bench, and keypads on the doors.

Today I've added the diagnostic monitors on the biobeds, and added the paneling details on the pillars at each side of the said biobeds.

I've added the x-ray illuminator (which is different from the TNG version given the weapons locker taking up some space), as well as the bands of light on the replicator (they use the same texture).

I've also "done" the little movable drawers. I say "done" with quotations because these aren't props made for TNG, but rather off the shelf drawers, and the original seller has the CAD files for them up on their website. I did modify them to have the TNG look, removing certain elements that weren't on the show version and adding the black reflective top. Still feels a bit like cheating. [IMG]

Very well done, @Rekkert! Those last couple of renders have a very realistic feel to them, especially that one shot looking out of NotBeverly's office almost could pass as a screenshot from the show. :techman:

@Michael: Thank you very much! I'm glad my work seems realistic haha :D

I've finished the sensor cluster, so I'm done with the modeling for the actual 'set'. Now all that's left on the modeling side are a lot of set dressing props, computers, medical instruments, etc.

I hadn't thought to look at the manufacturer's website for those mobile carts to see if they'd have drawings. I believe they're still available to purchase if I remember correctly.

    Great work!

@Scribble: Thank you! Indeed those are available for purchase from several places now, a few cropped up on Discovery!

@cardinal biggles: Not for this sickbay, just the TMP biobed that was more common in early TNG.

@Rusty0918 wanted a more interesting ceiling for the ICU, so I took some inspiration from Tobias Richter's interiors, but changed the arrangement a bit, lining up one light per bed so that lighting isn't as random. Of course the overall lighting of the area diminishes drastically given that there are 5 specific points of light instead of one large area.

Started adding props everywhere. The Fleet Workshop is becoming an invaluable source of references for this process.

Also, YOU get a caduceus, and YOU get a caduceus, and YOU get a caduceus, everyone get a caduceus!

I have a cousin, who is an MD, who hates the caduceus. The reason being that the staff of Aesculapius actually has only one snake, and the caduceus is the staff of Hermes, the messenger, and has nothing to do with medicine. She even has a tattoo of the staff of Aesculapius on her shoulder.

Yeah, the whole caduceus thing is painfully obvious for anyone outside the US. Here in Argentina for example the caduceus is correctly used as a symbol of trade. Several 19th Century banks and postal buildings in Buenos Aires have it engraved prominently, while hospitals and medical services use the Rod of Asclepius. It's one of those things (like the occasional use of the imperial system) that makes this supposed utopic and united future seem a little too United Statian sometimes. Logical, being a US production, but a bit weird as an outsider nonetheless.

Anyway, let's not get off topic. Props, props, props! I'm nearly done modeling, only the CMO's computer, the hypospray and it's station, some small vials, and some plants to go! (I think)

CMO's computer and plants done! I wanted the plants to contrast a bit with the blue hues of the set, hence the colorful shades. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll finish modeling and start UV mapping the LCARS.

I've finished with the hypospray station and the remaining random props. Now onto UV mapping.

Also, I've seen some of my images crop up around sites I have nothing to do with, so despite not really wanting to, I'll start adding a small watermark to all my WIP images from now on.

Good idea on a watermark. You should definitely get credit for your work!

    Which is, BTW, outstanding!

Were you able to use the 3D scan and model for the other Sickbay devices?
I'm particularly interested in them because I was able to identify the object used to make them and own one.

    @Scribble: Thanks! :)

@Lt. Washburn: Unfortunately, no. I took the chance to create the props in a way to make them usable in Stage9, and as there's already a version of that prop there, I chose to fill the space with other props.

I've finished the UV maps and started with the LCARS. Rusty wanted a proper biobed monitor readout rather than the TMP era one used for TNG.

Finished all the small LCARS, only the main screens on the ICU, the waiting room, and the office to go.

    Looks great!

I LOVE the glow on the biobed!
