I hope Enterprise attacks Discovery in the first few minutes next season, and then it jumps away, and it's a season-long mystery what the hell has happened to the Enterprise.

So the new cannon is that Enterprise attacked the ship that was most responsible for ending a devastating war? No.

Would explain why it's never mentioned in TOS. They just don't talk about the events of episode 201.

Apparently, no one ever talks about anything associated with Discovery, ever.

The characters? Sure. But only in terms of interpersonal conflict due to character dynamics, not fist-fights.

    Ship-to-ship battle? No.

The scenario might make for a video game that's entertaining for, oh, three minutes tops. But as part of a show? No point in it whatsoever.

So a sister Starfleet ship, faking some form of trouble with the ship, then drops that cover and attacks?

    Nah, it's been done.

But Discovery can teach us the origin of the General Order 12 that Saavik quoted in TWOK! :)

I mean i'll like anything if the story fits but I can't think of one scenario where that's entertaining.

I agree. Enough with the conflict with each other in Starfleet. I know that it's more realistic to have some conflict, but the writers went too far the other way so far with DSC.

I just want Enterprise to be leaving a dangerous situation, Discovery renders assistance, and Enterprise continues on her mission under Pike. Discovery then ventures out into the unknown, giving us new worlds to see.

Why did the Enterprise go nose to nose with the Discovery, instead of pulling along side?

    It does look confrontational.

It is easier to hide the relative sizes of the ships this way.

Canon this, canon that. If there was ever a reason to have a reset button, it is this scenario. Let them blow away each other and then reset. Would sure as hell be a fun episode.
Lighten up Trek Fans. Something fun and unusual will not kill you.

No, but they're still an element of GREAT Star Trek:
    TOS - "Balance of Terror"
    TOS - "The Doomsday Machine"
    STII:TWoK
    etc. ;)
