I've about 60 pages left to read on Ready Player One. Also, still reading the Complete Conan, last story I finished was Queen Of The Black Coast.

By Gaslight by Steven Price. An atmospheric story of two men, one of them a detective (William Pinkerton) and a master thief who are searching for the same woman for different reasons. Might be might year favourite novel of the year so far, but will take me awhile yet to finish it as it's a big novel. Very nicely written and quite engaging.

I have just finished listening The Drowned World by J.G. Ballard. I think I read this book about 40 years ago when I read several books by Ballard. I am not sure how I felt about this book back then as I only vaguely remember it and it could be that I might be mixing it up with a book written by someone else.

I absolutely hated the book this time around due to it very blatant racism. I return it to Audible for a refund and I have only returned a book to Audible twice before.

The first volume of Ms Marvel. I’m not a fan of graphic novels in general, but I really enjoyed this one and intend to keep reading it.

I finished "The Time Machine" by Herbert Wells. It was great to feel like a child that travel through the time while reading the novel, But now it's time to get back to the college program. I've got to write a literary essay, covering The Book Thief. I don't have much time and wanna find the way to save it. Has anybody read it? I just need some short description of the main points. I also found a sample here https://writemyessayonline.com/blog/summer-reading-project-the-book-thief-by-markus-zusak/, but I'm not sure that It will pass the plag.check. Plus, my pals also used that for own writings

Have you read the sequel by Stephen Baxter, The Time Ships? I believe it was commissioned for the 100th anniversary of the novel. I read it this summer and thought it was really good, and a worthy sequel. Baxter manages to capture the rhythm and feel of the original and expands on the premise while never making it feel too modern. That was one of my main concerns going in, as sometimes a modern sequel can often feel too far removed from the original material, but I was pretty happy with it.

Turtledove really peaked with that series. He's been writing generic WW2 stuff since, with the exception of the Supervolcano series that mostly amounts to relationship drama and complaining about being cold.
