Is there any chance we could see this happen?

And would you want to see this happen?

There's always a chance. There's some level of minute probability that the moon will turn into Evil Robot Miley Cyrus and come down to destroy France tonight. Not likely, but we can't 100% rule it out.

No, I would not want to see it happen (leaping into Kelvinverse that is, ...I'd actually like to see Robot Miley destroy France)

I would be okay with it happening. But I don't think it's that likely. I think it's far more likely we will jump the Discovery into a gratuitously Prime Prime Universe, revealing that *gasp* the first universe was an alt Prime. But I am also okay with it being Prime all along, Klingon baldness bedamned.

So... I guess I'm chill either way?

I would actually find it hilarious if when attempting to jump back to prime, the land in the Kelvinverse for like 30 seconds or so, before jumping again.

I would guess it has the same chance of using the spore drive to jump to the Hoth system..........so no.

They'll leap back to 1963 and Lorca will be revealed as the second shooter on the grassy knoll...

About as much chance as The Flash from the Arrowverse crossing over with the DCEU.

They may spend a few seconds in a universe with bright white ships and lens flares for a quick sight gag, but that'd probably be alongside a universe with bright jammies, miniskirts and jelly bean buttons.

if we believe there's even a 1% chance that the moon is France's enemy, we have to take it as an absolute certainty. And we have to destroy it.

If it happens, it'll be fun.
Not counting on it ever happening, though.

    A bunch of quick cuts:
A few seconds in the TOS universe
A few seconds in TAS (everything is Filmation animated)
A few seconds in the Star Wars universe
A few seconds where everything is in black-and-white
A few seconds in the nu-BSG universe
A few seconds in The Orville universe
    ...

I believe the rights issues prevent it by default. Until that's resolved I don't think you'll ever see anything close to a crossover unless a licensing deal can be done.

I think some fans take the whole alternative timeline bullshit way too seriously. It was just a way to (re)tell the story of the TOS crew without having to worry about changing established bits of continuity. It's nothing more and nothing less. For all intents and purposes it's supposed to be the same Trek universe we know and love. My guess is that there will never be an episode where they crossover from one timeline into the other.
