So glad it's not just me sick of them leaning on TOS. And I like me some TOS, but for god's sake, DO SOMETHING ELSE.
Which I'm doing! I have a lot of TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager to watch! Maybe some Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis too!
Great now I'm considering a full rewatch of Trek and Stargate (though you missed of SGU, my favourite)
Oh! (Lynx walks away and dissapears in the night. He was last seen walking away towards the morning sunlight muttering "Now I've managed to screw up everything again!")
I can't pick a favorite. I have things I like and dislike about all of them not to be drawn to one exclusively. True, as my user name reveals, I do lean towards Janeway as a viewer, but I'm not all, " The captain!" Because if I had to admit to myself, I am not sure she and I would get along on a shuttle craft. ha! If Chakotay had been fleshed out to his full potential, probably him. Maybe Paris. See? I can't.
In other words, you prefer the redshirts ... And I'm more than happy to see that our Janeway is topping the list. It's a pity Seven's not here - I'm sure she'd make a great rival for our Kathryn (or should I say Catarina? ).
Oh my.... there is a pattern! Although I assure you, my vehicle is command red only by coincidence. Then again, I discovered in my 20s when I bought the car, red has symbolically expressed a need to take charge of my life. Maybe not a coincidence. Seven is fabulous.
Neelix and Sam Wildman go without votes. I'm surprised. Even Kim's got a vote. I guess it's because we had enough scenes involving Neelix, but only a few episodes with Ensign Wildman. Kirsten Beyer gives Sam Wildman more moments to shine.
Does she? I've only read two of Beyer's books so far ("Full Circle" and "Unworthy") and I love how Beyer writes the "Voyager" characters, so I'm now looking forward to reading her version of Sam Wildman.
Voyagers new Doctor is also very interesting, especially in his interactions with Sam Wildman. I have already read Atonement and I'm looking forward to re-reading it in German (the book has a new cover).
By the new doctor, do you mean Counselor Cambridge? Or an actual medical doctor? (I know the EMH isn't on Voyager anymore, so I should remember who the new doctor was, but it's slipping my mind at the moment.)
Paris for me. He wasn't "stuffy," he wasn't perfect, and sometimes I think he was the only one who was actually having fun out there.
When it comes to the "Voyager Relaunch" books, there are simply too many new characters who I don't care about at all. I want to read about the old gang from the series, including Kes, Neelix and Tuvok.
