With all the classic reference being mention;will the borg be making their appearances on discovery at some point of the shows run?.
I hope not, that was mishandled badly in ENT. We do not need a TNG only enemy. We need to explore this era.
I really hope not. I think the Borg are more of a TNG-era adversary. I'd rather they expand upon the TOS races and mythology.
As long as they stick to the true/original space-zombie locust Borg and not the later worker-bees Borg, Discovery people would be stupid not to take advantage. They are the best thing Star Trek has ever done. Period. Though, I'd still rather they be saved for the films. But since it's unlikely QT has any interest in the Borg, then why not? And really, there is a connection between T'Kuvma and the Delta quad; this was even implied in some of his dialog in the pilot. And Disco obviously has the technology to get them there. So the door is certainly open. *I'll add that this would best be done by bringing back Frakes. He showed last week what he could do with the technology and freedom the show gave him. Plus his familiarity with the material could really make for something special.
If you're going to be set in the 23rd Century, use the 23rd Century setting. Though I wouldn't really care if they were in a Kelvin Film. But even putting canon and timelines aside, DSC doesn't need the Borg.
. Spoiler: Porg...invited to dinner I was hungry while watching The Last Jedi and more than a bit envious of Chewbacca
Prime Borg - absolutely not. Mirror Borg - why not. Good guys, part of the futile Resistance against the Empire...
