Oh, don't mind us! :) People posting sales here aren't the source of the frustration. I obviously can't speak for all non-American readers, but I personally don't begrudge anyone sharing deals with other members.

I mean, sure, we're insanely jealous, but seriously, it's all good! :D

Somewhat bored at work this morning, surprisingly. Ran an analysis of the trends in the Amazon sales from November to December. In case anyone's interested . . .

Titles in my lists that went up by a buck - 7
Titles in my lists that went down by a buck - 33
Titles in my lists that stayed the same price - 47

Don't know if it means anything but - there you go!

It really, really pisses me off that we don't get these prices in England. SNW for $.99! They're £4.99 on the .co.uk site.

Same for here in Canada. Hell, I'd even take the regular $8.99 price for Vanguard and Titan, and others, but not $19.99 a pop. That's just absurd.

Do not look at the double figures Voyager relaunch novel...I have no idea why the UK price is that high.

Well, Caretaker appears not to be available in e-book (Kindle) format, at least on Amazon.com US. In fact, none of the early numbered Voyager books appear on my search. The earliest appears to be #5: Incident at Arbuk. So Pathways is a good way to get a newbie an introduction to the main crew.
The Siege is harder to explain - it is available. But I see what you're getting at. You would think they would either offer the first original novel in each series or the premiere episode / film adaptation in each case.
Either way, I'll be getting all of these...

Ghost Ship is great. Totally different direction to later TNG, but genuinely great.

Starfleet Survival Guide is another fun read. It's much like Max Brooks Zombie Survival Guide, but written in the style of surviving as a red shirt instead of a zombie apocalypse survivor. For 99 cents you can't go wrong with it.

I am both excited and worried that the first Discovery novel is already so cheap. I'll definately pick it up now, but does this mean it did not sell well on initial release? Could be a bad sign for books based off of Discovery.

Also am glad to see older Trek books like Ghost Ship and Entropy Effect on sale. I last read these years ago when I was still in middle school and remember really enjoying them, and will be glad to pay a buck or so to re-read them now.

I've actually been working on a book of my own behind the scenes, my second published one. This one is an unofficial history of Star Trek Video Games, and I am hoping to finally launch it sometime next year. It's more or less an overview of every Star Trek licensed videogame from the original arcade game (ported to 2600 and Vectrex), to the text adventures, the console games, the awesome PC games, and closing with some of the more recent mobile games. It's been a chore to find copies of all these games in order to play and review them, but I am closing in on the halfway mark (working on Elite Force 2, Away Team, and Armada 2 right now)

I don't think the inclusion of the Discovery book has anything to do with quality, or popularity, these sales tend to be themed, and it looks like this one is early books. Desperate Hours is the first Disco book, so that's why it's there.
I already have Entropy Effect, Pathways and the Klingon Dictionary, but I will probably get at least one or two of the other ones. I am very curious to check out Ghost Ship, since it's apparently very different from what the show ended up becoming.

I'm sure last year I added over 100 books from the Trek sales to my kindle collection, so it's nice to get a breather.

The Discovery novel is 99p on Amazon UK. Haven't got around to watching the series yet, but at that price thought I would get the book!

The timing of the eBook sale for Desperate Hours is intended to capitalize on and also promote the return of new Discovery episodes on January 7, and to prime the readership for the arrival of Dayton Ward's new DSC novel Drastic Measures on February 6.

I picked up the Starfleet Survival Guide, which is an awesome book, and it was the only title in this month’s budget offerings I didn’t already have.

When I buy ebooks, I generally update the metadata based on ISFDB. Was surprised to discover that the Survival Guide isn’t cataloged on ISFDB. If I have time this weekend, I’ll add it.

February's deals are "live" (thanks to some URL trickery), and they're to be the Typhon Pact books, it seems:
    http://www.startrekbooks.com/c/ebookpromofebruary2018

Pretty psyched; I'll be getting all of these, especially since Rough Beasts of Empire and Plagues of Night both suffer from the absurd pricing problem.

Discovery: Desperate Hours is up for $1.99 on various platforms today. Definitely worth it, if you don't already have it.
