Well, Disney did release an animated version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow in 1958.
I don't remember the girls name in that one, though.

"Beauty" was such an amazing and emotional episode. That really was the perfect happy ending for the Rumbelle romance and yet there are still ways to have Belle appear again either because of the prophecy, through flashbacks, or through some other means.

I have to say I've really been impressed this season and I'm looking forward not only to the rest of this season, but I'm already hoping for the show to get an eighth season.

    My review of Beauty:
What a great episode across the board.

From Belle and Rumple's "Up" journey to Alice/Tilly having her memories back (how long ago did she "go off her meds", I wonder) to showing us the context for Alice drugging Henry at the ball in the premiere, Adam and Eddy delivered one of the best hours of TV I think I've seen in a long time in general.

Emile de Ravin and Robert Carlyle absolutely killed it this episode, as did Rose Reynolds as Alice/Tilly. Her shooting Rumple/Weaver was something I definitely wasn't expecting, but, apparently, it was enough to 'wake' him up; it just sucks that, in waking him up, she ended up going back to 'sleep' as it were, and apparently did so willingly.

I love Adelaide Kane, and was elated to see her get something to do other than just being 'there'. Her interactions with Henry this episode were kind of endearing, and have me wanting to see more; I'm also interested in seeing what's going to happen if/when she gets her memories back about who she used to be and who she actually is to Henry given that they sort of started developing a connection tonight.

I kind of wish we'd seen a little more of Regina/Roni and Rogers!Hook, but also understand that sometimes other characters need to take precdent as dictated by the story, and this needed to be focused on Rumple/Weaver, Tilly, Jacinda, Henry, Lucy, and Ivy/Drizella in the present and Rumple, Belle, and Gideon in flashbacks.

Having been majorly disappointed with the writing of the series coming off of Season 5 - which led me to, for the most part, skip Season 6 - the first four episodes of Season 7 have been a welcome return to form for the series, with Beauty being the best of what we've seen so far, as well as among the best the series has given us on the whole.

Yeah, this was a great episode.
The whole flashback Rumple/Belle story was great, I love how once again they managed to find a way to keep the character around, but not destroy their happy ending.
I've been curious to see more of Alice/Tilly and I really liked what we got with her here. It looks like these curses just don't work all that well with mentally unstable people, first Mad Hatter and now Alice.
We also got some good stuff from Ivy here too. I was a big fan of Adelaide Kane on Reign, so I really liked getting to see her do more than just be Belfrey's/Tremaine's bitchy daughter.
It look's like we're getting their take on the Princess & The Frog next week, should be fun. Anybody know who that was as Dr. Facilier? All Wikipedia say is "TBA".

Jefferson was left with his memories and personality intact deliberately by Regina as revenge for him betraying her.

Alice was affected by the Curse, with the pills as a component of 'keeping her under', but at some point, something happened to 'wake her up'.

Adam and Eddy said in an interview that we will see what that 'something' was in the coming months, and also revealed that we'll be taking a trip to Wonderland in the coming months too.

The actor cast as Facilier is named Daniel Francis.

Well, that was certainly a sad story-- or, rather, bittersweet. It was nice that Rumpy and Belle got their happy ending. Except it wasn't really an ending, and now Rumpy is like an unquiet ghost, wanting to be reunited with his love. But we did learn that Storybrooke has quieted down, and that Rumpy became the good person that he should have been, and that Rumpy and Belle had a nice, long life together in that beautiful wilderness at the edge of the world.

Alice is an amusing and intriguing character-- although I get a little tired of these stories that portray mental health care-- especially medicine-- as harmful, rather than helpful. But somehow she was able to beat the curse and Rumpy had the foresight to give her the teacup and tell her to use it. I wonder why it didn't work.

That last scene did seem to imply that Ivy has her eye on Henry-- but is she sincere, out to beat Jacinda, or acting on instructions from Mother?

The Ivy/Henry probable hookup is sort of repeating the story beat of the Mary Margaret/Dr. Whale one night stand.

I wonder how a paternity test would go if Henry tried that with Lucy.

This was a fantastic episode--best one of the season by far, and the ending really nailed it. Rumple waking up from this curse can only be bad news for anyone who wronged him.

It does kind of suck that Rumple's goal now is to actually die. OUAT does have an afterlife, so the question I have is where is Belle? Did she move on or is she in that purgatory waiting for Rumple to break the Dark One curse?

You have to figure this show is going to end with Rumple being able to destroy the Dark One and go to some sort of heaven with Belle. Of course the question then becomes--how do you get to heaven? Rumple did a lot of terrible things and killed a LOT of people. Why should he go to heaven where Belle is?

It says so much that Rumple listened to Belle and didn't make her young again. He never would have done that in earlier seasons. He was too selfish.

Great work on the writers' part.

Oh yeah, that's right, I forgot about that.
Should be interesting. I wonder how different this Alice's Wonderland will be from the first one we visited?
    Thanks for the info.

So does this mean Belle grew old and died although only a decade had passed since Henry left Storybrooke?

    Yes.

Time works much differently in other Realms than it does in the Land without Magic.

Well, I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised by this season.

I had really stopped enjoying the show and the only reason I actually saw the new episodes is that I am stuck inside the house for a few weeks and I had already seen everything else. However, the new episodes are actually nice! I have no idea how much longer this can go on, it seems that the current storyline can only hold for a season or so, but I am glad the show is interesting again.

I can't say I'm liking Jacinda's character. She's fickle-minded and negative. Sabine was only trying to help her and Lucy by coming up with the beignet business. Jacinda went from "It's too risky" to "Thanks for giving me a nudge" to "This is all your fault" to "I'm sorry, you were right."

In the flashback, it was interesting to see Princess Tiana's journey to find her prince. I never saw Disney's Frog Princess on which the character Tiana is based, so I don't know much about the whole royalty dynamic. Then again, the cartoon was hardly based on the original Grimm folktale, since it was set in 1920s New Orleans. Still, she helped two lovers get reunited.

It appears there's more to Drizella than meets the eye, that she's actually conspiring with the captive woman against Victoria Belfry. Looking at the preview for the next episode, I'm guessing Ronnie will finally remember her real identity as Regina/ex-Evil Queen.

So Ivy is actually Jacinda's evil stepsister both in the Enchanted Forest and Cursed Seattle. And she's playing everybody-- too bad, because I was hoping that Henry had won her over.

Roni finding that picture of herself and Henry was an interesting twist, and ties things even more closely to the the original concept. The question is why does Belfry have this picture in her belfry? And who is her prisoner? Rapunzel? She's locked in a tower and has long hair.....

While I like Jacinda, she's really all over the map with her waffling and emotional meltdowns and bad decision making. Her kid is more mature than she is, and it's not hard to see why she lost custody. Is this part of her character arc, or just bad writing? The other problem with this aspect of the plot is that the actress who plays Princess Tiana is just not doing it for me. She's not very convincing.
