How could they fight it if GR sold the rights?

Good luck. I'd love to see it as would probably everyone here.

BTW talking of lost Trek stuff, has anyone had any luck finding the Carol Burnett show thing?

What popped into my head was that they used footage from something like Miri, where they wandered around the Mayberry set I guess. But you seem sure it was new footage.

LOL Just saw the video. If the Channel10 ABC seriously thinks $800 spent on a video is a serious waste of public money, then they've never been to a Christmas shindig in any of the many places I've worked in that the company has paid for.

Not yet, it's on season 1 episode 12, but that wasn't one of the episodes included in the seasons 1-5 release a couple years ago. Annoyingly, episodes 11 and 13 were included. The Carol Burnett Show has an official YouTube channel now, that might be the best route to see if it can be unearthed.

No, the dialogue was written about all the "dangerous" things they found. The first scene at the house was in the driveway and there were toys laying everywhere, a tricycle behind the car, skateboard on the sidewalk, and bats and balls on the stairs, that kind of thing. They are tiptoeing around them. Kind of silly, really, I'm sure Kirk had knowledge of such things. I'm not sure what the Mayberry set looked like, but this was a modern suburban house. Dennis

Maybe the thing to do is reach out to Rod Roddenberry himself, just to see if he knows anything himself about it. Both he and Shatner have presence on social media.

I wonder if it was a film made to look like Star Trek and the passing years have made it seem like it was made with actual actors and props from the show?

I have been searching for some contact information for Shatner. I'm not sure what address to write to, I have found several already. One site cautions that email addresses are invariably fake, although I have found ones for (supposedly) his agent and another for press inquiries. They mentioned that real mail is preferred. I don't really know about Twitter at all. Dennis

Makes me think of all the crazy people out in youtube-land these days, that when faced with a memory that makes no sense, or something that doesn't seem to exist, their first instinct is to insist they came from an alternate universe...... :D :D

That is from the 1991 revival, not the original show.

Twitter, unfortunately in some respects (and fortunately in others), is really the best way. You're more likely to catch the eye of someone who may know someone who knows. Email has gone the way of snail mail.

This reminds me of the short animated Star Trek commercial about "pointing out pollution".

A Quick Question, I'm from NY/NYC Area... Has anyone seen or hear of a White Castle Commercial with an ATM model of the Enterprise flying up to the space station and ordering hamburgers and coffee? This would have run in the 70's-80's,,,
