...there are several (if not a downright plethora) of Voyager episodes that feature guest (and some regular) actors that were also in Seinfeld. This is the case, most likely, because the two shows were produced and aired at the same time, or had a significant number of years of overlap. I won't be able to remember them all right now, but here are some examples: Think Tank (prob the most obvious one) Cathexis (or anytime that annoying blonde kid in the Lambda One holodeck is present) Sacred Grounds (Estelle Costanza) ...there are a bunch more that I've already noticed, and I'm only part way through season 5 , so I expect to see more familiar faces as I progress. Makes me chuckle...
@cosmic mouse What's up? I'm really bad at Seinfeld. I've seen many episodes, but not since it aired. I know that one scientist guy in the Orville pilot, was a recurring character on Seinfeld. He played a Greek or Arab resturant owner, and he also played Dr. Bashir's dad on DS9.
Alright, no sweat, Prax... just thought I'd hit you up since your comment in the other thread is partly what prompted this thread. I bet there are many on DS9 since there were more years of overlap. I've been noticing Seinfeld actors for awhile now though and I forgot that Rain Robinson was in a Seinfeld ep...
Richard Herd (Mr. Wilhelm) as the second and far better Admiral Paris. He and RDM had the same head, the same unfortunate hairline. Hell, they could've been father & son in real life.
Cool thread! I'm a huge Seinfeld fan and always loved spotting Star Trek folks as guest characters on the show. Back in the day I used to think George's idea of naming his hypothetical daughter “Seven” (from the episode “The Seven”) was an allusion to Seven of Nine on Voyager. But of course the timing is all wrong on that one. This shows all the overlap of Voyager and Seinfeld alumni. Lots of people I hadn't realized were on both shows. George Costanza's own mother Estelle Harris, for example. Was also surprised to see Lee Arenberg (who was a Malon on Voyager and played the guy who steals George's parking spot), Susan Diol (Vidiian Danara Pel and big-nosed Audrey in “The Nose Job” on Seinfeld) and Tom Wright (who was Tuvix and George's Yankee co-worker Mr. Morgan).
Site is interesting, I totally forgot Quark appeared in the premiere. It's not surprising there's a lot of guest star overlap, there's a big pool of character actors who appeared in everything in the 90s.
Well, well IMDB strikes again... I guess that site is still good for something. Tom Wright as Tuvix and Mr Morgan... of course. I think I actually recognized him subconsciously when I watched Tuvix a little while back. I think that Senfeld ep is the same ep with the annoying blonde kid from Janeway's Gothic holodeck novel.
Spent an hour looking since I liked both shows. Not a complete list, certainly, but there are quite a few. EDIT: Oops - Michael (M) already put up a much better list above. So, how does one make the IMDB site do a match search like that? Well, wow. Since I saw IMDB could do that, I found out how. What an incredibly useful feature that I had previously known nothing about. Damn, I wish I knew about this a long, long, time ago. Advanced Searches are FANTASTIC! Thanks, Michael.
The advanced search feature on IMDB is fantastic... I agree. I've located many an obscure horror movie over the years that way. Thanks for posting that list!
There was a Seven on Married with Children, too. And Lee Arenberg also did at least one, if not more, Ferengi roles.
