I am a firm believer that if there is a major holiday (well, certain ones that is), and a contest falls close to it, it should be themed to that holiday, so with that in mind...

Halloween is sixteen days away. Let's see your pumpkins! No pun intended!

Be it on display in front of your house, inside, carved, not carved, this year or a passed one, or something I didn't cover here, show off your pumpkin. No pumpkin spice combos. ;-)

No images from film, television, magazines, commercials, etc. If you feel you have something that falls in a gray area, please ask me.

    General rules:
    • One image per member.
    • 200x200 pixels is the maximum size.
    • MB is the maximum file size.
    • No hotlinking.

We don't do carved pumpkins, but my wife makes delicious and very odd looking pumpkin cookies. So when she makes some, I'll add a picture here. :)

(Not sure if that will be appropriate for the contest, so I'll put it up, and it can be in the contest or not - I'm not pushy. :) )

Sorry, I want pumpkins, not pumpkin-flavored cookies.

Well, first of all, they're made with real pumpkin meat, they aren't "pumpkin-flavored". And second, I wasn't offering ya none no how - you were just going to get to see a picture. :nyah:

Yeah, this competition rather niche (which I'll be sitting out of instead of the normal, I didn't get around to doing an Avatar for it) to be honest as we don't ever do pumpkins (Mrs-Dimesdan and myself) and we're in the country that "invented" Oiche Shamhna.

    That's what Wal-Mart is for! ;-)

Seriously, they got jumbo pumpkins, regular-sized pumpkins, mini ones you can hold in the palm of your hand, pumpkins of different varieties and shapes and colors. Join us -- get a pumpkin. :-)

Pumpkin avatar contest thread is devoid of avatar contest entries.

I have some pumpkin decorations--but not real pumpkins-- that I plan to put on my lawn when it is closer to Halloween, but I'm working OT all this week and don't have time to get a picture of them.

You're out of your gourd. :rommie:

I'm not going to buy a pumpkin, but I might have an old picture if I can find it on my backup drive-- it's from more than 25 years ago, so I'm not sure if it even still exists.

Linus Just think, Sally, when the Great Pumpkin rises out of the pumpkin patch, we'll be there to see him!

Sally Uh. Hey, Linus? Since when were you in a pagan cult?

Linus Pagan cult? No - I just worship a nature-associated deity in an extremely small religion I came up with that others view as sinister and strange.

    How about this?

It's a little metal-work decoration I bought for the yard this year.

Does it actually have to be something that is "ours"? That seems to be the problematic rule for many people, myself included.

Indeed. I have one possibility, but it dates back from the early 90s so it's an actual photograph that I would have to scan. I looked through a few old pictures yesterday and couldn't find it, and I don't really have a lot of time for that sort of thing (especially since old pictures tend to trigger bouts of heavy sighing and melancholy daydreaming).
