A potentially brave story line? Or work for the carpet sweeper...

In the current climate I thought it was rather prescient that Discovery should feature a story thread clearl
y indicating that Ash Tyler had suffered prolonged sexual abuse/assault while a prisoner of the Klingons...T
his fact - if true(speculation, speculation) -could open up an potentially interesting and rather taboo subject matter for the writers to examine
    - i.e How men who have been sexually assaulted
are treated/judged by their own society, and how they cope internally and externally with the trauma/stigma of the incident...
No doubt some fans might find the revelation that 'the Klingon female Captain had took a liking to him'
as amusing or 'lucky him' or 'not that big a deal' but ask yourself this? If that had been a female character making that statement - what would your reaction have been? I hope the writers tackle this subject with some courage and verve - i.e. - it doesn't have to dominate the narrative or impede the 'adventure', but unless it has been written into his character simply for garish shock value - to never mention or examine it's ramifications again would not only be a great storytelling opportunity lost, but wantonly cheap...

Yeah, the "Captain took a liking to me" is most likely a lie to cover up the fact that Ash is Voq transformed either surgiically or via the Augment virus into a Human - to spy from within.

That is what concerns me Noname Given as it is
quite clear to Lorca what he is implying.
..It's a pretty cheap wink at the audience if that is all it truly means!

He did very much imply what SJA took from it, though - I took that from it, too.

I hope Tyler is a Klingon, because as a human I certainly wouldn't want a female Klingon taking a liking to me. Talk about chewing your arm off to get out of bed..........

B'Elanna's father even married a Klingon woman. I always wondered how that happened. I'd have thought Klingon women would think humans were exceedingly boring.

That kind of stuff is purely fictional, there's no way species evolved on different planets share like that, even if they did come from a common seed as per that TNG episode. But it makes for good TV. :)

Personally, out of all of them, I'd have to limit my affairs to Vulcan ladies or smooth headed Klingon ladies. Although if I was drunk enough, a cute Andorian lady might be fun. No full blooded Klingons or Romulans need apply. And I'd shoot a Ferengi on sight if I ever saw one.

"Ash Tyler" is a cover, so everything he says is a lie.

People evolving on different planets wouldn't share sexual pleasure? I'd argue the exact opposite - if they are "people", they are mentally advanced, and will find ways to exert pleasure out of the partner utterly regarldess of the physiology of the issue. They will also find the search for pleasure the one remaining worthwhile pursuit, after having already wiped their feet or foot-analogues on all the lower rungs on the Manslow ladder while they climbed from their planet to the stars.

Although they could probably choose an alternate top rung and go for suffering instead of pleasure. Again all of the above would apply.

Trek just adds the twist that the critters in our galaxy are seeded from common stock (it's a bit more high-tech than that, but this is the basic gist), a minor consequence of utter humanoid domination of the galaxy some four billion years ago.

Since L'rell spent six months on Voq's ship, there's no way she could've spent seven months sexually abusing Tyler.

So, does Starfleet not perform medical checkups?

I assume Tyler was immediately checked over thoroughly along with Lorca on getting back to Discovery. Even the worst doctor in Starfleet is not going to miss so many extra organs, different shaped brain, hexagonal meshed ribcage etc

We've never seen the CMO. For all we know, he or she is a Klingon, too. :p

(Seriously, spoons, the obvious Trek way to go would be for the fake human to have a doodad under his skin that made the sensors mistake his innards for human ones.)

They never caught Arne Darvin. So there's probably a lot of incompetent/bought doctors in the Federation/Starfleet.

I know, but Discovery being so important, and them being able to image down to the DNA double helix in real time, should imply Tyler has literally no chance of pulling this off.

And I don't think "being too ticklish" is going to cut it as a way out.

Someone on Discovery will turn out to be a spy. Probably Statmets partner. Perfect place to be able to help cover the tracks of infiltrators.
