Pretty cool! I can't believe that it's almost 25 years since the show first came out! DS9 was the first Star Trek series that I watched from day 1 to the last episode when it was first aired. Sad that Alexander Siddig, Colm Meany and Avery Brooks didn't make it. I know Alexander and Colm are based in Europe now and Avery doesn't seem to want anything to with Trek anymore.

It's a shame Avery feels this way. It's his perogative, but for the 25th anniversary it would have been nice if he had at least gotten involved somewhat.

That is a shame about Mr Brooks, though maybe his schedule interfered with him attending--try to be a little optimistic it is after all a big milestone for the show.

I love that everyone is smilin' for the camera except Combs and Auberjonois, having a chin-wag in the back. :D

    Everyone looks great. (Especially NdB.)

Why? He's the only surviving creator of the show after Piller passed away. It would be weird not to have him there.

I know he gets a lot of flack for Voyager and Enterprise, and Niners like to downplay his involvement in the show, but he was involved in all seven years. He supported Ira when they needed to overcome studio anxieties over the increasing serialisation of the show.

I think enough time has passed to give him credit for the job he did overseeing an insane amount of Star Trek for 18 years, including Deep Space Nine.

Those things are beyond obvious. My comment was directed at the fact that he was a source of tension within the production.

It's beyond obvious that I addressed that in the last paragraph, which applies as much to the crew and cast as the fans. :)

Cirroc really reminds me of Sisko in this pic. I realize it's mainly just his bald head and facial hair, but it's something else as well. Takes after his dad! :vulcan:

From many comments on DVD sets he seemed to go from TNG to VOY.

Who's the bird closest to the wall in the first photo?

There's a woman, Chase Masterson, if that's who you mean.

That's Chase Masterson, who played Leeta.

Berman was more of a money guy than a writer, at least before he started working on Enterprise. That doesn't mean that he was bereft of ideas, and some other producers credit him for helping solve certain story problems that might occur. However, it's hard to point to a positive contribution to DS9 that he made beyond creating the series and helping to write the pilot (two activities that overlapped). From what I can tell, he was more the carrier of "Gene's rules," the general sense of what Roddenberry would allow that he and Hurley had developed to sidestep Roddenberry's interference. What we hear from the writers is that Berman spend a lot of time micro-managing them, or shooting down ideas that writers had. He did invite Dorn to the series, although bringing on a TNG actor to be a regullar was decided higher up, IIANM.
