Lorca is a coward and murderer, how come he's a Starfleet Captain still??

And the characters are multi-dimensional...not one-note characters that the non-serialized storytelling somewhat locks you into. So, it naturally takes much longer to develop them.

Impatience. The JOY of watching a format like this is slowly watching the story unfold and the characters reveal themselves to us.

Yes, Why cant they just give time to something else, like showing how fresh uniforms are replicated or how starfleet couples handle their oral hygiene. Why can't we just for once see what a starfleet fed-ex container looks like. It's just war war war! And other stuff.

Have we ever seen a toilet in any Star Trek production?

It's a slow burn show. They don't need to show everything up front.

I think it's not a slow burn show. Hence, my initial point.

Seems to be. Otherwise the war would have been solved before the closing credits rolled in episode one.

A slow burn refers to something drawn out across several episodes, not resolved in one.

Exactly. We've already had people complaining that many of the plotlines and problems weren't solved in 43 mins. What happens when you have to deal with the fallout of a misguided mutiny for more than one episode? What happens when you have to deal with a moral dilemma involving a strange species for more than one episode? What happens when you have to deal with loss and trauma for more than one episode? What happens when you have to deal with very real consequences to your decisions for more than one episode...?

    That's the slow burn.

Maybe he'll get a commendation for killing his crew and saving them from a chance to live? He's such a swell guy and a pride to Starfleet. Come on, no matter how much spin if he killed his crew and somehow saved himself that is pitiful.
