Is there some internet penicillin we can use to keep him from coming back again like an unwanted infection?

We could try Potassium nitrate in all the Sushi bars, that will keep him from "Popping up.

Anyone else waiting for Mr. Peters to suggest that the Klingon speech on ST : D was very much like the Ramirez speech in Prelude????

On FB, I have already seen attempts to say Tobias's work would fit in with the series. With all due respect to Tobias, that's a big ole slice o' nope.

I haven't looked at blog responses, the FB group, etc in quite a long time (except to glance at those posters when they first came out).

Honestly, I have always hoped that Alecs' ego fever would at some point break and he would see he had a chance to turn his ship towards what would McCoy do. It never happened.

Is his conduct partly codependent on excessive criticism? Probably. But it doesn't excuse him.

I do think there are personal lines that shouldn't be crossed in expressing criticism.

Has he received enough criticism for diverting about a million dollars of fan money specifically to build himself a business (generously allowing some for the run up as 'true fan'), and for shamelessly continuing to deny it and sucker more people? I just don't know the answer to that one. It is an easy source of ongoing anger if someone wants to care about it and block it from happening again.

As I said a bit ago, I hope he can step back and let others' advice rule, go to a writing school if he really wants to have a part in Trek, and lose the puffery.

After watching Discovery I can certain see how Axanar would have contradicted the Klingon story line Discovery has implemented

There were a lot of folks that donated a ton of money towards Axanar whom I could see being unhappy enough to continually and obsessively bash on Peters.

Tobias builds great models, but his animation is overly ponderous and looks cribbed from other imagery.

WHATTT?!?!?!?! You mean slow spinning starships that are consistently and uniformly lit no matter what they are doing wouldn't work on TV?!

Interesting that 2245 and 2256 are the same year. I guess math skills like that explain the budgeting somewhat.

Animation is a different animal than modeling and rendering. I think when you have to learn to animate frame by frame you develop a feel for how things move, turn, etc., that you miss when the tools do a lot of that for you. There are tricks to making models and even CGI models feel massive and fast that most people who learned animation in 3D and via CG just don't have a grasp of.

Another example: moving weirdly shaped objects like the Enterprise is tricky because you really have to get a feel for what looks like the proper center of gravity for the thing. In TTI Dennis did a shot of the Exeter turning that is just awkward because the ship doesn't want to turn in a way that looks right to the eye. Eons ago I storyboarded an animation of a Klingon battlecruiser pivoting before warping off and I spent a good 15 minutes holding a AMT model in one hand twisting it around until I figured out how the ship needed to move to make it feel massive and sell the feeling that it was going "naaaah... outta here" (this involved subtly tipping the nose down followed by dipping one "shoulder" as it turned, to sort of subtly imply a shrug).

He is rying to claim that the prelude documentart was made in 2256 looking back on the events of 2245.

Of course discovery just made the 4 years war null and void in canon so his whole axanar project is is now officially non-canon in an alternate universe.

It is really down-right scary how deluded these people are. It's funny how they say how much better Axanar was than Discovery; without a single frame of Axanar being filmed, lol. Also, my favorite comment was how CBS / Paramount couldn't win the lawsuit; these people are scary stupid.

On first impression, not a really high bar to overcome. No friend of Axanar but still makes me wonder how close to home they were to Discovery and if that had any influence on their decision vs the abuses of Axanar.

The actual Axanar script is available - and after reading it - no, they were no where 'cloe to home' with regard to being anything like ST: Discovery. It was touchstoning to the max (way more then just Sarek and Harry Mudd) - and it was effectively TNG type Klingons acting like TNG type Klingons. Garth was a perfect Marty Stu archetype character - and really had no flaws of doubts about anything; and every plane/maneuver he did work put perfectly so by the end he 'saved the day' (Oh, and the actual U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 was TOWED IN by Shuttles using Tractor Beams (it couldn't maneuver on it's own) to help in the final encounter.:wtf::rofl:

If the question is would an owner of very valuable media IP stand by and allow a private organization to raise a million dollars from customers to build an alternative professional operation around that IP including funding their studio and proceeding with a monitization plan based on unlicensed sales via crowdsourcing channels, I think the answer is no.

Even if the first effort of that competitor was about hilarity among the salvage crews at Fleet junkyards.

In a universe (the CurseYouRedBaronVerse) where ships have to get within a couple hundred yards of each other to shoot energy beams that travel at about 100 yards/sec, a towed crown jewel could conceivably survive. Just have a dogfighting escort of quarter mile long ships that can pull 10,000 g's as they barrel roll around anyone trying to get close enough to have their photons get to the target before the target has moved... ...they were like Snoopys upon the firmament...

Whatever you do, don't send a warp drive freighter full of gravel that is dispersed and drops out of subspace inside the target area including inside the ships there. Don't do anything obvious that uses the tech in an inhuman way, because photon torpedos are so much more humanitarian, they only kill everyone too. Send a quadrillion credit ship with a thousand irreplaceable crew. No, send a dozen of same. And park them 50 yards from the opposing ships, all with a common 'up' reference. And wait for the biological crew to shout 'shields up' and move their digits to buttons so much faster than the energy beams coming at them at 100 yards/sec.
