Whatever became of Christina, Miles O'Brien's tarantula? Some ideas: * Miles got rid of her because: ** Keiko put her foot down. ** She made Molly cry. * She then: ** was relegated to the D's or DS9's bio-labs. ** was given to Barclay permanently. ** escaped and wandered the ship endlessly until the D was destroyed ** Eaten/married/killed by a visitor to the ship EDIT: Can someone move this to the TNG forum? Sorry.
Wouldn't this be better suited up in General Trek in the General Questions Thread. I believe that that thread was created to answer such mundane questions that don't have the legs for a full blown thread.
Miles beamed Christina down to a planet so she could play outside in the sunshine. When he beamed her back up there was a transporter accident (naturally) and she was eight feet tall. She gleefully ran all over the ship causing much mayhem until the crew figured a way to return her to her original size. Now she lives in a glass enclosure on Miles dresser.
Christina: UFP President, 2084-2092. Generally considered amongst the greatest of all UFP presidents for her ability to unify all species, and her no-nonsense foreign diplomacy marred only by the tragic realtions with the Fly people of Cyclorrhapha 4.
where shortly thereafter, while in a de-evolved state, he tried to mate with her, the resulting catastrophic outcome of which he kept to himself
Her teaching the Tholians a better pattern for the Tholian web lead to greater cultural understanding and diplomatic relations.
The senior officers discovered that O'Brien had a spider as a pet and made him follow therapy for that, since it is not a standard, high-brow pastime as befits a crew member onboard of the ent-D.
Duh! He had the spider in a cage you can see it in his quarters in episode 4 of the third season of DS9. But later, when he got that cat from that guy that he caused to be killed, sort of a poetic justice, the cat killed and partially at Christine.
Equilibrium? Just checked Trekcore's image gallery - I don't see O'Brien's quarters in it. That's the episode where Jadzia finds out about Joran, the secret former host of Dax.
You cited an episode. I believed it was possible because of that - it's the kind of background thing TV shows like to do without calling attention to it.
Oh. Sorry. I'm a geek but not that much of one. But thanks for the vote of confidence. I do forever strive to be a better Trek geek.
