As soon as I saw the thread title on the index, the use of Slim Whitman songs in Mars Attacks! came to mind, for some reason. Given the silly premise, though (and giving less attention to the places in the scene where the dialogue and music clash,) this one isn't a bad job.
Before that, the gag was used in Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. I shut off the Beyond DVD at that point.
Perhaps the original scene would have made more sense if the audio signal had been a bunch of incoherent, screechy static or something like that. But it would not have been nearly as fun. So there! Kor
